Just got stopped for tonight, ended up being a long but good day. I finished my trip back up to Charlotte and delivered my load there, then headed over to the OC and got lunch and hopped on the load board. My trainer from when I started with Schneider is working as an OSR now, I ran into him and it was nice to catch up with him and tell him about my experiences so far since jumping away from being a company driver.

I just happened across a load that headed up to Bridgewater, VA from Charlotte, paid right at $2/mile and was only 20k so I couldn't resist. Fueled up, drove about 3 miles down the road to the pickup then headed north and made the delivery tonight to Marshalls up here.

I'm going to bobtail back to NC now to take a restart and leave out on Friday or Saturday depending on what the loads look like.

So, I've run 6 days since my last restart, grossed just under $4300. I wish there was something headed out of here towards home tomorrow because I still have 11 hours left on my 70, but finding a load out of this part of (well, any part of) VA headed south is near impossible.

Had a check engine light come on today, code related to a temperature sensor being out of range on the DPF, so looks like I've still got some more troubleshooting to do with the EGR system on here. I'll probably swing by Cummins on the way back home and see about getting several sensors that are part of the EGR system ordered and possibly swap them out while I'm at home over the next few days depending on whether or not they can get them in time. Looking at the paint all over the sensors they appear to be original. They aren't too expensive so I'll give that a shot, I still think my MPG can be improved a bit too.

Need to hit the truck wash too - after that run up to Ohio I have that cancer otherwise known as salt spray all over the place and then a muddy oily mess from the drizzly weather down in Georgia. I was checking out the deduction list on ATBS's website and apparently a pressure washer counts as a tax deduction - I have a cheapo electric one but maybe I should get a half decent one for washing my truck with myself - would pay for itself pretty quick with the cost of those truck washes, of course it would be a lot more work for me and wouldn't be as fast as 4 guys working at once...

Well, I'm tired and feeling kinda crappy, dunno what bug I've got but hopefully it's out of my system quick. Time to get some sleep.

Just be careful with the pressure washer, ya don't want it removing paint!

Wow, four days since a dfo
update. I can think of two scenarios:

    1) The truck blew up and dfo is trying to put it back together himself.

    2) dfo caught the bug he mentioned earlier and has decided to rest and recuperate for a bit.

Could also be 3) dfo is running soooo hard and making soooo much money he has no time for us anymore.

Which one do you think it is?

Well I wish it was #3, but nope, caught the bug, bad!! Swung through Greensboro on the way back home from VA and picked up one of the sensors I needed, other was on order and arrived on Friday... unfortunately I never made it out there to grab it on Friday because I've spent every day since (except for today, thankfully) lying in bed with some nasty... something. No clue what it was, but couldn't keep anything down, had a fever that wouldn't go away, all I can think is thank GOD I made it home and did not have to go through that crap sitting in the truck somewhere.

Anyway, finally had enough energy to get out of bed today, fevers gone and I'm no longer coughing my lungs out so I'm really tempted to head out tomorrow. We'll see, not gonna book anything just yet.

    Lonesome and Kutina Thank this.
