Lol you have a lot to learn grasshopper. I've tried to give you some advice, and lately I've seen you giving advice on things you've never done on these boards. I'm on a load right now paying $2.20 pm to the truck out of Orlando to Ky. 40' container that I had to twist 4 locks to secure. Being leased sure does suck!. How many with their own authority bounced out or loaded $1 freight out of FL on Friday?

BTW, I was at Nextran Orlando looking at a 09 780, and I spec'ed a 2015 as well. I'm not sure what problems you had, but they were awesome folks to me. They even pulled up the NADA truck app so I could estimate the real cost of the truck (purchase price- 5 year old trade in value). It's $90,000 on a 780, BTW.

#1 I'm not your son MR.Super Trucker. #2 Where do you think I said I knew it all? I was making a joke on the comment you started on me about. But like you just said above you couldn't handle it as O/O and had to give it up so your coming down on me? I'm not just jumping out there. I been working on all this stuff from many O/O's for almost 5 months. I SURELY DON'T know it all, but I was taught and have a system to help me on those Fuel tax matters. Far as my attitude it will make me way more money than ever being a LEASE Operator. I don't have bad habits or wanting to be home every weekend like a LARGE MAJORITY of O/O and Leased O/O's . I'll run hard and hopefully make the money and come home for few days when burned out. So I'd think I have a good shot at making it right there. Cause like you said you do 2K a week and do fine. By that alone I can only fail driving backwards. So instead of cutting someone down why don't you tell us what you know ( oh thats right you went out of business and own a truck that someone else tells you what loads are available and how much when they can be double the rate and you wouldn't know) and help someone make it instead of jumping down my throat over a silly comment I made about how many fuel stops and size of tanks.

lol, 5 months ,huh? I ran my authority and ran exempt for over a very long number of years, my mc starts with a 1 . you are showing your youth, young man.

and the attitude you have will get you nowhere, you are the only one who doesn't seem to know that. you really don't have a clue. I sincerely hope you find that out before you lose what you invest in a truck.

I gladly share any info that someone requests by pm, always have. git a grip on yourself, son you are outta control

Why can't you KNOW IT ALL LEASEEE O/O quit coming down on me and tell me where I'm wrong if you know whats best for a REAL O/O ?? Whats so hard about that? I have no problem admitting I'm wrong or have a lot to learn but don't cut someone down when their trying like heck and being positive about trying to be an O/O . POINT where I'm wrong so I can fix it. Or ya'll going to be know it all truckers and cut epople like me down cause you couldn't make it as a O/O ??

Prime example of cutting people down trying instead of makiing a point and telling me where I'm wrong and helping. But then again why would I want help from someone that couldn't make it as a O/O . Cause I'm sure there are tons of O/O's that are out there right now surviving. Or and I wrong on that also?

I really don't want to argue with a couple of fellow flat deckers, but......

You are absolutely correct that fueling at the lowest pump price is the cheapest way to go IF the carrier is making up the difference if any

BUT unless the state where you but your fuel doesn't charge any fuel tax at the pump, you are buying/ paying for some fuel tax unless the carrier is refunding that amount to you.

Therefore, it is erroneous to say that "the carrier pays the tax" at best, they may pay part of it.

git rdun, that would be real easy for any of us to do? all you have to do is being willing to listen. tone back how much you think you know already, and listen for a bit. the first you need to do for experienced people to help you is get off that condescending attitude. a very good example is in the quote above "know it all Lease op", what response do you expect?

so I am pointing out you need to tone it down a bit , and realize some of us may know a bit after 33 years of driving and 20 with authority, I would be glad to help, just tone it down. I understand your excitement, but also remember the reason old guys can point out your mistakes is they have already screwed up 3 times what you haven't even screwed once. my know- it- all stuff has been hard earned and a good bit of it painfully

Have fun being a "real" o/o, I've done nothing but help you in your many pm's. I'm not going help or listen to someone who doesn't and has never owned a truck belittle me about choices I made to survive the biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression. I survived, still own one truck, maybe a second in a few months, have averaged $2.11 per ODOMETER mile for the last three years as a measly Landstar BCO. The whole reason I leased to LS is the direct freight I pull for the rates these direct customers offer. Rates and customers a single o/o will never have access to. I'm just a dumb lease driver. Btw, a comment you made about knowing how much the load paid. LS will send the billing invoice on any load, and most agents send it with your load info. Not knowing is the epitome of the single truck running load boards. That load could pay $4 a mile, but your moving it and happy at $2 pm, blissfully unaware that broker just made his mortgage payment on his beach condo.
