So I'm parked up at the Petro in Spokane WA. Fellow OO comes up to me and gives me the pitch on CleanBoost. Gives the truckers technical low down on what it does and that Jubitz in Portland uses it in their fuel fuel blend plus Safeway and one or two fleets use it. Says he would give me some for free to try as long as I can give him my details to forward on to CleanBoost. So he puts enough in to treat my 1/2 tanks and some more in a jar for the next fill up. Anybody use this additive on a regular basis?. 1 gallon cost a $100 and 1oz treats 30 gallons.
CleanBoost Diesel Additive.

Should be a CAS # on the label. Post it and i'll tell you whats in it. Might just be repackaged kerosene.......or white gas. Both will do the same thing..... -
100 bucks a gallon?? Interesting. I've often wondered about that snake oil stuff.

Ummm, yeah... Naptha bulk is $6 a gallon, based on a cursory google.
This reminds me of the MTBE crap from the Shrub era: it didn't help with clean air or efficiency; all it did was eat up fuel line s and cause car fires, polluted the air, and polluted lakes and groundwater.
I call shenanigans on this. -

only time i used a diesel additive was after i left the cap off my DS tank like an idiot after fueling during a rain storm. there's no way of knowing how much water and other trash got in my tank, but all i know is she ran like a champ the next day, so either the stuff worked well, or i barely got any water in there. tough call because it rained all night with the cap off. or maybe a lil water in the diesel is no big deal at all, considering it's mostly made of water in the first place. but it does seem like it might've boosted fuel efficiency to some degree as promised. anyway i cant remember the name of the stuff so this post is pretty useless any way you slice it. except to say Dont forget to screw your caps back on ya numbskull!

Adding an aromatic (naptha, alcohol, whiskey) thins the mix, and might add some power, but at what cost, in terms of wear and damage? -
