KD They look good, You can go look up their CSA scores I didn't do that, They look like they are a Reefer company, I'm not sure how many trucks they run? If they run Elogs or Paper ones, You will just have to check them out and then come back and let us know. Thanks.

Yes there is, not many, but some. But I understand for 99% of drivers it's best to stay away.

IMHO there is no good lease unless you can gross $6000+ per week. anything below that you will be their slave for the lenght of the lease. Pay up that Maintenance account, tire account, etc, etc.. and the day you will quit (or get fired/don't get enough miles/fall in the hole/ blah blah..) guess where all that money will go..
I've done two leases; with ATS and National Carriers "THE ELITE FLEET" LOL So it doesn't matter how good of a driver you are, if you got family or home time requirements or not, if you can drive comfortably at 58 MPH all day long for weeks for months and live out of "lovers soup" in the thruck, unless you gross what's stated above you are better off finding a good company to fix your credit

    - Here pick one; http://bestcreditrepaircompanys.com while you work as a driver, give it or take 6 months and save up in the mean time $5k for a down payment then jump on, if you can't make it on your own you are less likely to make it through a lease unless you want the company to reign over you for years and years to come.

A truck's yearly gross avg is $180-200k as an O/O.. you mean to tell me you cant buy and pay off your own truck in 2 years?
A leased truck avg is 2 years for most companies leasing... have you run math where you'll be 2 years after the lease is over owing on the truck?

I truly believe mega carriers-lease are front up theft of time and money to our hard working drivers and I know you are! truck leases should either be regulated (not by gub'ment) or banned. These are so wrong in so many ways I don't care what company comes out here offering what, if you are not paying me $2 a mile to run "MY" truck, I won't survive in this industry PERIOD guys please stop fooling yourselves.

We drivers are not just exploited but fooled by the sharks of this industry since we are not well educated on it. we need to set guidelines somehow and the leases should be on the top 10 of such list if it would ever make it... as a matter of fact I propose some one starts a thread or I will do myself with the "Most common sense guidelines a truck driver is recommended to follow in our industry"

May the force be with you..

I worked for one of the "bigger" carriers that at least had the integrity to tell us about their lease completion rate. They claimed to be the best in the industry by far. It was 25% and if memory serves me they claimed 10-16% industry wide. That means that in the best company to lease for, only ONE in FOUR lessees(sp?) was successful in completing the agreed term. Mind you, there's a completion bonus of about 20K for a full 3 year lease that they will do what every other company does and chisel away at it for EVERY little thing wrong with the tractor at turn in--so cut away about 1/3 of that minimum. So if these folks tell you this up front, what do other companies do? My advice would be to look at the terms of the contract and check with actual drivers ON their program before signing up. Hang at a truck stop along their lane and talk to their drivers, you'd be AMAZED at how informative it can be. If it's a good deal, these are the people that will tell you. Good Luck.

I was leased on to Minn Tex about 5 years ago, (my truck), they are one of the two worst companies I've ever dealt with, the other being LSI Eagan MN. I'd be about embarrassed to admit what I endured for the two months with Minn Tex. Just the bottom line is I was making much less than a company driver. On the leasing side of things you should read and listen to what others say about leasing. Save enough for a down payment on a decent used truck, along with 2-3 months operating expenses, then if you don't like where you are at, take your truck and leave. If your personal expenses are to much to save some money for a truck, then you most likely will not make it leasing either.
