Ok, my thought is that we need to pick a date, and then stick with it, and get as many truckers in each state as possible to go to the state capitol. As the drivers are about to arrive, the news stations, get a phone call that a nation wide assembly of truckers are showing up at each and every state capitol on the same day to show that they are sick of the cheap shipping rates and high fuel prices.
My husband was going to put "LOW INCOME HOUSING" on the back of his sleeper. I think that it fits now, more that when we first started this business. -
.....i wonder if my sleeper is available for HUD assistance??

i know right here there are at least 100 drivers that are agreeing on something now. hell thats the start of a movement.
however, we must talk rules of engagement.
i mean by this,
one cannot park the truck in protest with a customers freight on it. that would be a no no. much like holding freight hostage. risk losing a customer that way as well as possible criminal charges and contract issues, ie; breaking contracts
also. if this were held in a common truck stop the owners or chain could and probably would evict. so a place to stage would have to be setup, or numerous staging areas.
where i live and run its nothing to park in the desert along side of freeway and setup camp. however after 100 trucks parked, there would not be any room.
how about mom and pop truck stops, (yes there are a few left) they could be given so much time to stock pile goods and such. to support such a movement and make some serious cash from truckers as well. then blessings abound. for the truckers, as well as the owners and restaraunt providing servces for the event
I run a flatbed, it would be nothing for me to get out my can of spray paint and make a banner over a draped tarp.
one person can make a difference sure. but organizaion has to be maxmized.
what other rules of engagement should be observed ?. remember, cant hold freight hostage. -

Have gotten a some info on Willie Nelson from MM and the web. I'm going to try to get him on the bandwagon as a celebrity spokesperson. He's always been a farmer and trucker advocate. I'll try the numbers in the AM. I'm writing the e-mails now.
