UPS vs UPSF

Every month I've checked for openings for UPSF here in Orlando for the last two and half years. Still nothing. Not even part time. Fedex on the other hand every now and then would post part time P&D. Both yards are across the street from each other. It ain't easy with this people.

 

Not sure how to exactly say this without offending . Walk into the shop and ask for a application or go to UPS website, You set up your own interview. Not hard lol

 

All UPS/F jobs have to be applied on the website. I have asked a few times before. Wait until the spring to check then. They just told me I could be losing some hours this week as the outbound is getting slower so I would just go in at 9 to do my run to the mini hub

How much driving experience is required to be able to get on the payroll of United Parcel Service Freight, (UPSF), as a full time driver?

What is the minimum amount of weight that a driver working for UPSF must be able to lift and work with?

Is it MANDATORY or VOLUNTARY for a UPSF truck driver to be a member of the Teamsters union, (in states that are NOT right to work states)? I currently live in Kansas, a right to work state. I was born and raised on the east coast, a union shop state that is NOT a right to work state. I personally have NOT ever been in a labor union, therefore, have NO experience concerning union membership.

From my understanding, next to United Parcel Service, (UPS), United Parcel Service Freight, (UPSF), is the HIGHEST paying LTL company in all of the United States of America, along with having the BEST benefits package in all of the United States of America.

If I had a CDL, experience, physical capability, and was able to pass a D.O.T. physical, I would absolutely and positively jump at the chance to be an LTL truck driver for United Parcel Freight, (UPSF) for the "long haul".

I saw that opening. It's been on there for as long as I've visited that site. Any idea of how much they pay? This isn't for working for contractors, is it? I had a coworker quit and go back to teaming for a contractor. It wasn't that much more money but he was just fed up with working the dock 40 hours a week and driving 10.

 

UPSF Truckload is UPSF truckload...I believe they are company drivers because I have seen signs that say UPSF TL needs a union

 

Apparently it's a completely different division, non-union with lousy pay. I really don't what it is, because I know a guy who teams for a contractor and I've seen other companies pulling UPS trailers, but I've never seen UPS Truckload. This is all confusing.

I've even seen a Harley Davidson truck and trailer yet the truck says "Operated by UPS Freight" on the side.
