From the road the other trucks looked like they were parked in rows... it was misleading to the tired eyes.
OK experienced drivers, post your most recent rookie mistake!

At least you didn't have to chain up in the mud to get out, good job to keep the wheels turning once you knew you were in deep doo doo.

I havent made any 'recent' rookie mistakes. Have kept my nose clean.
But I have a rookie story you guys will laugh at.
I had gone in to get my shower after fueling and when I got back to my truck, I climbed in the driver seat and tossed my gym bag on the passenger seat and noticed garbage all over the floor and crap on the dash. Out loud, I said WTF is all this ISH doing here!?! Then a guy in the sleeper says yeah its a mess. It was then that I realized I had climbed into the wrong truck.
True story.

First week at current company, assigned a load which absolutely cannot deliver early. It had decent miles (1500), but 3 extra days on it. Thankfully our home terminal was just 60 miles beyond the final, so I send a qualcomm asking if I can drop it. Hour later the response comes back "Get with local dispatch"
Cool I think and proceed to the terminal, drop the trailer, and bring the paperwork to local dispatch. "What the hell are you doing here? You've made this load go 120 miles out of route!"
"uh, they said get with local dispatch?" (facepalms realizing I took message too literally)
The weekend dispatcher who sent me the qualcomm message got a minor tongue lashing for being too ambiguous, but I was ultimately able to drop it and grab another load (on top of getting an additional 60 miles on the original dispatch). Sometimes stupidity pays!
