It is the things like this that give us "experience." Painful, and embarrassing, but experience none the less. I had numerous "experiences" over the years. . .:biggrin_2551:

I'm glad you enjoy that. Pups pull hard, and ride rough.:)

Whoever thought of putting super singles on dollies deserves a special place in heaven.

I miss the ones with the spring-mounted fifth wheels. I thought they were easy to work with.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I see OD dollies with super singles and wonder if the fuel savings is worth it. It seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Edit: I meant to quote Oi!'s post.

Actually, they aren't so bad. You have to slow down with them in the winter, though.

One of the guys at our terminal came from fedex freight and he said that once you use SS dolly you never want to go back. I guess they roll a million times easier and are way lighter to move around. As for worrying about them blowing out I would highly doubt it would make a difference compared to duals. The side shear force from them being in a tandem setup is what kills tires. When they are in a single axle setup they have no side shear force so the tread isnt being ripped from them all the time.

Not just that, they turn like it's nothing. You can literally move em by hand around the yard like it's baby stroller.
