Is it feasible to be able to stop at movie theaters, restaurants, or hotels as an OTR driver?

We stop at restaurants but never tried movies. You could do a hotel on a reset.

Hell yea brother, best place for all of the above is a mall with plentiful parking.

Google Maps and satellite will save you a lot of headaches.

Don't be dumb like me and just wing it, always gather as much info as possible.

I learned the hard way. Check out Quality Inn and Suites in Vidalia,GA. I almost took out there balcony because Google said it had truck parking.

    Always check the satellite!!

sure, it's feasible. You have to consider a few things though.

Your employer is paying a stupid amount of money for auto liability insurance on your truck, they may not be too happy to find out if you are running around to movie theatres or restaurants. Not only a big liability, but you also can use quite a bit of excess fuel and put unnecessary wear and tear on equipment.

Many places do not like big trucks in their parking lots, you could be ticketed, or even towed.

Sometimes bobtailing is an option, but even then it is a little risky and irresponsible to leave a trailer dropped somewhere, even with a kingpin lock which will only stop an honest person.

IMO, unless a place has legit truck parking you would be better off limiting your options to places within walking distance and/or call a cab or rent a car if you are stuck somewhere a few days.

covering your tail is 1/2 the job these days, if you start racking up extra miles, burning extra fuel, or someone calls your company asking to move the truck out of parking lots and things you could have a big problem.

Plenty of legal places to park and get away from your truck....you have to be willing to have a life outside of the truck.

Of course... Lots of Casino's have truck parking and most of them have hotels and just about all have restaurants some better than others, of course they all have bars... Lots of hotels also have truck parking... Most malls that have Movie theaters you should be fine parking somewhere at the mall during business hours and seeing a movie... I normally call security at the malls and see if it is ok to park and where they would like me to park... Its never been a problem... No overnight parking at any malls though...

    1. Check google maps to make sure they have a legal truck route and enough swing room

2.call and speak to their manager or secruity, most malls with plentiful parking will allow big rigs in there as long as you call secruity and park where they talk you

We get to our deliveries early. Drop the trailer then bobtail to wherever we want to go.

US Xpress is always having trailers stolen so we only drop ours at a customer.
