You shouldn't have any problems then. Training time would be short for you.

I can't tell you a whole lot about that because I am a company driver. I am researching this myself as I am possibly interested in being an IC for them. The guys I have talked to all give me different answers. Seems to be 50/50. Half say it is good while the other half say the money ain't there like it use to be.

I can tell you this. I am fixing to go out to Salt Lake City. I am not aware of any loads coming back from there so I will probably be dead headed back to Chicago. If I was an IC, that would suck. That is a long way to dead head for no pay and you eat the fuel. If you can keep the dead head miles down I think you would do okay. Fuel would probably be the thing to make you or break you being an IC.

Wow that is a long way to get no pay...I thought about Schneider but every driver I meet on the road says no miles...but ethos says he is treated very well...I also see superior carrier everywhere

I get good miles as a company driver. We have our slow times but that is everywhere. As a company driver I will make money being dead headed back. That's where being an IC (independent contractor/owner op) has it's bad. You would want to keep the dead head miles down as much as possible.

Sounds very tempting to me...I might have to put in a app and see how it goes...where do y'all run mostly?do you get paid for getting the tank washed out?what kind of chemicals do you haul?

We run all 48 states and Canada. Yes we get paid if we have to go to the tank wash and wait on the tank to get cleaned. That rarely happens though as we usually just drop the dirty tanks at a tank wash and pick up a clean one either from the tank wash or one of our terminals. In the time I have been there, only once have I waited on a tank to get cleaned.

We haul pretty much any chemicals except gasoline. It's about 50/50 on the loads as far as hazardous and non-hazardous. I will go a week hauling non-hazardous and then I will go a week hauling nothing but corrosives, like last week. Every load I had was corrosive. Weird how it works out that way.

If you live in Houston, our Pasadena terminal is good one to run out of. Plenty of loads coming out of there. I have heard nothing but good things about that terminal.
