I'm wondering why you're changing oil at 12 to 15,000 miles when the factory recommended service interval is 25,000 miles. Especially if you're concerned with saving money. That's nearly doubling the number of oil changes that are actually required.

In promo materials Cummins mentioned "up to 25,000 miles" oil change interval only for "light duty". 15,000 mile interval mentioned within "heavy duty" operation pattern.

PS. IMHO better way to extend service interval is to use Oil Filtration systems like FS2500. I use one and results are pretty remarkable.

If running red antifreeze I change my Coolant Filter 3 time a year Replace only,Right side of motor below Egr.( but if you don't know what they look like you most likely won't know what or where the egr is) anyway The oil filter( Crankcase Filter) is same side(right)middle of motor, behind the water filterand under the Turbo, I change my oil (mineral oil) every 10-12 thousand miles, I run Shell Rotella 3 15-40 My ISX seems to like it. The fuel filter I change every oil change,It's on the left side of engine about the middle. The Coalescing Filter is mounted on a bracket at the front on the left side of motor. I change this every third some times fourth oil change,But you watch the level on it when the truck is running, Do a internet search on your Filter mfg, their site will tell what to do, and how to keep them clean......

I found out where the Coolant filter is and got it replaced today,,but I don't think Crankcase Filter is Oil Filter, i believe they are two different... I think Coalescing Filter and Crankcase Filter is same thing the one on the left side like a rectangle shape...
