enforcement, and brakes try using a spell check program

if you really are in law enforcement you need to hop onboard a big rig for an hour or two just to get our perspective. you would see we travel where we do to avoid the dangerous situations brought about distracted, uneducated, and down right stupid 4 wheelers we have to deal with every day.

early on in my career I bought into the "travel in the right lane" crap that my instructors taught me. my first trip to new jersey made me see the light!

Thats not the point... every day truckers get a bad rap and in most cases it is not warranted. I remember a day I was delivering some cars and I was a little early. I went into the parts department to research some parts and was telling the guy behind the counter about the traffic being so bad because a tanker had rolled over. I said some car probably cut him off to which he laughed and said he does that too, ( intentionally cut trucks off). That is when I politely let him know I had a load of cars to deliver to the dealership... The point? 4wheelers think it's a game out there on the road and put they're lives as well as others at serious risk.

This is just the American general attitude, me first and you know where you can go. You gotta protect yourself.

  8. One thing I think it's important to point out is that even when it's not apparent to a 4wheeler what's coming up, the Driver in the 18wheeler has a better vantage point. There've been times when I saw a car turning ONTO the ramp, so changed lanes because I knew that in a quarter mile or so, I'd need to be out of the way. The hazard had'nt arrived YET. Most non-truck drivers don't make the connection, and get aggrivated because they don't have to think ahead in time.

That said: when in traffic, on a 3+ lane freeway, I'll usually just stay in that middle lane when going THRU (keyword) a congested area. Reason being that 9 times out of 10, if I need to get out of the Granny lane, there'll be someone blocking me in. 9 out of 10 times from THAT, they'll refuse to make a hole for me to get over......

The conscientious drivers among us all understand it can be frustrating, but it truly is the safest place for thru trucks to be.

So, I was driving over to my mother's for Easter today. In a car, not a truck, of course. Here are a couple of pics of a common sight in Phoenix. This truck is in the fast lane, next to the HOV lane. He's been sitting there a while, cars passing him on either the right or in the HOV lane. He really has absolutely no business being in this lane. Traffic wasn't heavy.
Behind him, about a quarter mile? Another truck, same thing. Sitting in the "high-speed lane - no apparent reason. I continue to ask the question: Why? Some of this bad rap truckers receive is - well deserved, unfortunately.
Well, I tried to upload pics, said I had successfully done it - but they aren't showing up on here for some reason?

I'm a 4-wheeler and it pisses me off when I'm behind an idiot that sees an 18-wheeler coming up but just puts along going 20 below... They don't seem to know what the purpose of the on-ramp means. Get your #### speed up before you merge. I find myself flooring it and cutting across the ramp early. That pisses me off.
