Prime example of a driver that makes it harder for the honest ones. You think your bigger than the company YOU work for financially to fight them over anything? Do well with playing with the Government over logs. Just go by the rules you agreed to go with the punches like a lot of us do. JMO

Should specifically say in the lease...I don't know if you're an OOIDA member or not, but they will look over potential lease agreements to make sure there aren't any hidden surprises in there.
I wonder if your company would accept logs from the smart phone app 'Big Road' on a daily basis? You might have to keep a paper log in addition to it, but I've found it a very handy program as a backup and email the logs to myself daily (I'm under my own authority). -
ever heard of faxing the logs in?? most outfits now scan in paperwork the same can be done with logs. there remains a fact if a check is held for logs you can bet the driver will find a way to get them there overnite, but sending them in every 3 to 4 days will solve the problem.

Mailboxes are not that hard to find, protect your cdl and get in the habit of doing your obligations and the law.Excuses arn't getting it done.Your doing the trucking, now do the business.

No! A company cannot hold lease driver pay it's against the law. If it's in your lease then your lease is invalid.

Your bills have to be turned in and that's all that can hold up pay. If a lease agreement has stipulations in it that are outside of regulation guide lines then said lease isn't worth the paper it's written on. Example would be say you quit and they hold your pay till you turn in plates, logs anything but bills. My brother went they this and OOIDA told him there were 5 stipulations in his lease that void said lease.

Look up Truth in Leasing Regulations. It's in there.

I don't know the legalities regarding withholding settlements for late logs. My company doesn't do that. However; they will put me on the bad boy list and shut me down until I get them turned in.

My logs were never late when I could just email scans but now my carrier wants hard copies so the 2 week deadline gets passed quite often.
