Really yes, truck components makers are global. First of all, now EU and US trucks share powertrain, brake components, air system parts and other.

You know all, that ABS and EBS systems are all from Europe, Bendiix and Knorr Brems cooperate, like Meritor and Wabco,

It is easier to say what is different:
    1. Park Brake valve - Knobs in US and Stick in Eu
    2. ECE vs DOT lamps
    3. Lenth limits (from bumper to bumper in EU)
    4. more liberal weight limits in EU so EU trucktors are generally of short wheel base and 4x2
    5. Rim lug pattern

    Schwinder Thanks this.

Hope so, but non the less L or R lamp is still shooting in the sky blinding oncoming drivers. Thats unacceptable.

Einstein, focus your thoughts: euro trucks don't have disc brakes that make them safe, you can find euro trucks with inertia brakes, superior...(humph). Ask your self this, when your driving in the middle of winter and your defroster is working at high. Why is the viewing area so small. Ques: if you wanted to add on a pressurized air system to your cab...could you? Suspension issues, you skipped this entire system: (im guessing, ur not informed) when reading thru the research on how many euro truck drivers reach retirement age. I have to ask a question to myself, why is it only 11% of euro truck drivers reach retirement age. Within this fragmented group of 11%, why do those drivers whom reach retirement age, retire early. Further, why do they not wait until they have reach the maximum driving age, before retiring. Then, from the group of senior drivers, why are there: muscle skeletal problems & breathing issues. Research aside, I guess the only thing left to focus on is your moral...gee trucker, that's a sure pretty truck...(disgusted). Genuinely, there are some real issues in trucking that need more tax dollars to focus on then ur C.B. radio chatter.

here those mercedes were mainly changed for ng series till mid 80s , but few of them remain to early 90s , than at start of war prices of trucks were cut several times over night and most of L series disappear , however few of them remain , for example guy 400m from me had 1413 until 1994-1995(i dont remember anymore) but he did not work much with it

also other guy had 1623 in excellent condition,he was working until 3years ago he died last year , truck was sold for 16000€ it was 1968

maybe it is still possible to find one but not working , here local people are emotionally connected to their belongs , they are different than we( bosnians-we look everything through money) they refuse to sell things , but rather keep them as long they are alive

friend of my father have its 1984 1936 in garage truck is not working for 10years but he say he would never sell it

4km from me there is very old longhood mercedes in rusty condition

few km from me there was one man bonneted tipper 26320 6x6, have working with it in september/octobter 2007 , guy died 2years ago

my father love those old mercedes because he started with them , when he heard there is 2624 in fire service in oil refinery 100km from here, he went there and ask if they want to sell it , he say truck is like new

btw do you know they still make them in iran by licence but they are slightly different have wackenhut cab not original mercedes, and i heard quality is not same as german

they have 355engine , 16speed zf gearbox and hl/hd7 hub reduction axles with bogie and springs from ng series and front vl4 axle from ng

No, my lights were properly adjusted. It isn't rocket science. I am very picky about that.

Its ok. Next time look at the highway - 99% freightliners are out of adjustment. Even new ones.

Trucking in Europe is a bleak affair, personally I don't intend to stay driving until I retire, the reasons are the constant and persistent interference by laws and law enforcement , constantly falling rates and pay and conditions that opening the market up to Eastern Europe has created, in Europe driving is just a job, not like NA where it's a way of life and it shows, drivers in America take genuine pride in their work. European trucks are constantly being made more refined and comfortable to keep drivers interested, comfort sells trucks in Europe , by comparison euro trucks are more comfortable and ride better than US. Trucks, they are also safer with far superior braking systems and retarders that make mountain driving carefree. Seats are also profoundly better so we can't blame the trucks themselves, it's more the lifestyle, tacho graphs make sure that your only activities are drive-sleep-drive, like I said....a bleak affair
