CA has opted to not except the federal exemption.

Much like the federal DOT weight exemption; 400 lbs; allowed for APU's.
CA, WA, NY, PA, Washington D.C., MD have all opted to not except.

Well good luck to you, but weather you like it or not the government will regulate change. You can get on board or you can fight it. Do your own research before making changes. Not all changes are good, but keeping the same business model for 30+ years will put you out of business.

Your not entirely correct in the world of trucking. You can do the same stuff in trucking and still make it work. You will probably just work a lot harder than the other guy that is evolving his business to stay ahead of the curve. But a lot of guys are in the mindset that hey it works let's keep doing it. Simple things like skirts, different tires, and slowing down to 60 instead of 70 will allow you to work a lot less because you save a lot more fuel so you In turn make more money but work less.

Dont You dare tell me I havent been in this industry long enough to know whats good or not. I do research, i own my truck and I test the results of any investment I out in it. I do know what does and doesen't work. Do not ever disrespect us younger truckers just because we dont have the experience you have. What good is all your experiance if you cant learn something new. Its not simple as that. If you havent researched the latest tech to make your self more proffitabl since you dont want change, then its you who don't know what is the best and MOST profitable.

No you have the wrong attitude. You still havn't told me where you get your info. I'm not ignorant. I do my research and use tech I think will help me become more profitable. I then carefully monitor it to see if it does what its supposed to. That not ignorance, that experimentation based on research.

You assuming SS are bad without ever owning a truck with SS and MAINTAINING the properly makes you ignorant. Im not saying you need to go out and buy SS, but you can't judge those who do when you have no first hand experience with the product.

But if you want to be ignorant, that fine. If your cost to run your truck is more then mine it only keeps my rates up and give me more profit. So keep running an inefficient fuel hungry truck. it only helps my rates an my profit. Thanks for charging needing to charge more then me driver.

To clarify, Over all experience, you experienced truckers know way more then me. Booking freight, dealing with brokers, true trip planning, even knowing the mechanics of your truck etc, etc etc...You know all of that way better then me. But that is not the only thing that makes the wheels turn. I however Have embraced tech to reduce my cost. I know more about those tech, becuase I research them and use them. A trucker with tons of experience who doesn't try anything new certainly doesn't know as much about new tech as i do. Now there are more experienced drivers that do research and try new teck. I have a lot of respect for older drivers that are willing to adapt and learn new ideas. But I have no respect for a driver that says a product is garbage who has never tried using that product properly. By properly I mean maintaining the product as well as using it.

As for KR. I think he has a lot of good ideas, but He is far from my "messiah". Some of what he says is BS. I totally don't agree with his politics, but im open minded enough to learn what i can from someone who has experience AND is willing to try new tech. I disagree with him all the time though. He specs trucks togo 55, I like to drive 65. yes i could save more fuel going 55 like he says, but I want to go faster. Somthing like SS will save you money no mate how fast you go, so its a no brainer.

FYI mich has rebates on the rims, so the cost to buy new SS vs replacing worn duels is similar.

You havnt tested the new tech and you attitude towards is shows your close minded about it. I know my number and my profit. Bottom line if I run an aero truck with better tires I have lower cost. Your so ignorant to the chnaging industry. If test wont convince you, what will? You guys asked for real world numbers. i gave them to you. That not enough. If FMCSA puts out mandated o new tech you comply or get put out of service. This isnt the wiled west days of trucking any more. You can fight it ir choose not to comply, but choosing non compliance will only hurt your bottom line during inspection.

Nothing against the super singles, but I will keep my duals. Just a personal preference is all. You say similar how similar, keep in mind I rum 11R24.5 now anything shorter wouldn't fit my needs. Ground clearance is a factor.
