    How about you stop disrespecting us older truckers by telling us you know more than we do. We don't have a problem learning and trying new things, but we aren't going to just jump on the "new tech is better" bandwagon because you say so.

    They make 24.5 singles. Another option is high profile singles on 22.5 rims. They are a little less then double the cost of duel with the mich advantage program (free to sign up). With the rims not fully rebated you just about break even. With 24.5 rim you might have a little more out of picket do to rims costing more. the 24.5 tires are also not as low rr which is why i suggest high profile on 22.5. Its close though in price and on your next set it cost less. The Xone XDA Energy's lasted 300K+ and the new xone line energy d's are suposed to last 1.5 times as long. (450,000 miles). Not thats not proven yet, but anything over 300k is good imo. I know guys that got 350 out of there Xone XDA's. Thw line enrgy d is not available in high profile 22.5 YET, but the XDA still is in many shops

    Because you show ME no respect. it s a 2 way street. AND I do know more then you about new tech on trucks. i dont know more about everythign then you do, but when it comes to new tech, I do.

    So, say I try it. Say I spend gobs more money retrofitting to these super awesome, ain't nuthin' better, will make me rich super singles and they don't work for me. then what? How do I recoup that lost money? We're not talking about buying a cup of coffee only to have it taste like crap and be out $1.95, we're talking a big chunk of change. Me, I'll do the research I have been doing for years; I'll talk to people that have run them, then I'll weigh the pros against the cons, weigh the positive experiences against the negative and make my decision based on that. Not because some self-proclaimed trucking genius says it works. I've talked to many that have used SS. Some like them, many don't and haven't seen the magical numbers you spout, so I'll do what I know works for me.

    That sentence, right there, is why I don't like you and don't show you the respect you think you deserve. You don't know me. You don't know anything about me or what my experiences are. Maybe I've embraced more tech than you've ever dreamed about, but since it isn't your tech, I must be wrong.

    Great Point Joe........

    Lets weigh the pro's and con's here.....

    I personally cant think of any pro's besides a few hundred pound weight reduction..

    The Con's of Super Single tires and wheels.......

    1.Tread Depth ,nearly 50% LESS tread then my Samsons and Firestones
    2.Traction, Evereyone I talk to says horrible things on snow and Ice
    3.Flat Tire: Reqwuires a road call no matter where you are

    I would love to own my own truck and try out all these new techs and gadgets and addons. Crunching numbers and trying to figure out how to make something operate more efficiently is my forte. But with 5 kids and a baby on the way in 2 weeks I just don't have the funds right now. Before I take the plunge id like at least 10k in the bank for those "break the bank" weeks when the bottom falls out. But you can bet your bottom dollar that is embrace any tech that could possibly save me fuel since that's the #1 cost to trucks.

    They do I'm sure, I didn't find any immediately in a google search for 24.5 bud super singles. That tells me they are too rare at this point for me. I also was on Alcoa's website funny they are touting that a SS aluminum wheel and tire saves 300 lbs over a set of steel duals. The aluminum's on my truck are Alcoa's why didn't they compare apples to apples. I realize the tires are the main part in this fuel equation but it is easier to get 300 lbs less weight rolling. I wonder how many have caught the steel to aluminum comparison, and if an aluminum to aluminum has been done. At any rate with what I seen on cost of tire and wheels of 22.5 no thanks.

    If I ever have to replace and the truck I like has SS I'll give them a try. But for 3 to 7 percent of 6.0mpg I'm spending dollars to save dimes I can't see it. Like I said I 'm not opposed I just don't see the expense of changing over with one truck being a benefit. Kinda like the power steering talked about earlier most didn't convert, it came with the new rig when traded.

    Ok, what new tech have you used to make your business more efficient then? I spend most of my free time doing research on ways to become more profitable. (when I'm not trying to tell others about things ive learned that have worked so they can be more efficient) The years experience mean nothing when it comes to knowing how new tech will work on your truck.
