So you ask why I am so into Schneider National, I studied up!!! I went through numerous company profiles and Schneider rated pretty high. I know this will sound funny but also on youtube I started watching numerous videos of individuals that are into trucking. There was two in particular that stood out, Ike Stephens and Colin James. I have tried to contact Ike with no replies but have spoke with Colin numerous times. The information that I received from Colin and the research I did pointed me towards Schneider. I also looked at Melton Trucking but need experience just to get in. Also I don't know about flatbed and tarping, getting to freaking old for it I think!!! LOL
After staying in the military for so long I like the idea of staying with one company because I know perks come with time. I also understand that I can leave when I want. I haven't had that option since Nov 1 1989. So long story short, if I don't like working for Schneider then I will leave after a year and move to a different company.Kapn Thanks this. -

I have got a co-worker who is retired Army. Served for around 30 years. He came out. Didn't start with SNI, but he is with us now. As you may know, we are on a dedicated account. There can be a lot of money in dedicated. Just depends on the account and the type of work. I would prefer a dedicated that has multiple drops. Because that is what makes the money. Yes, miles is a big thing, but when you factor in $15-$25 a drop, over the week it can all add up.
I have also heard that bulk makes some good doe. I talk to some intermodal drivers on occasion. They say the money is not as good as what I am making, but it is far more consistent. You pretty much know you are gonna work when you are gonna work. Whether in my case, selling doors to Home Depot this time of year, it is very slow right now. I had a 7 drop Little Rock run that is 789 miles round trip. And I had a 6 drop New Orleans run that is 1002 miles round trip. I am sitting at the house the rest of the week cause that is all the work we have for the week. Yes, it is a nice break, but I consider my break on the weekends. I prefer maybe getting 1 extra load in. But intermodal will never bring in the megachecks that I bring in the majority of the year. But they are working today where I am sitting in my easy chair at the house.
SNI has so many options for rookies and experienced. That is why I am with them.e7shirleym and Ford L8000 Thank this. -
