I agree with the disclosure on BOL's as well. Also, I agree that the last thing we need is further government regulation.

Now, how do we get this from an internet message board to being put in practice. I'm an actions kind of guy. Less talk, more action guys.

Your enthusiasm is welcomed. However I think this needs time for more to put in their 2 cents. Anything that is put into place/lobbied for must be well thought out and ripped through the bushed to insure that every possible flaw has been determined.

I certainly do not welcome the gooberment into our lives..

So the question now is how do we get full disclosure without it being a gooberment mandate?

Without some gooberment entervention I highly doubt companies and brokers will voluteer this informaton. Why would they? If we know what the price actually is then they can't cut our throats. Unfortunately at this time the only way I see this happening is with gooberment regulation requiring full disclosure.

Id like an idea of getting the $$ direct from the customer/shipper and then cutting another check to a broker...afterall we are the ones paying the majority of bills fuel, IFTA, miles, insurance etc...Hell we can just add another bill to a broker...lets say between 8-10%.

I bet that would go over good. A broker having to factor a load or wait 30-90 days for payment...:biggrin_2559:

Unfortunately, there is no way to get full disclosure without government assistance. However every driver, broker, and trucking company is currently regulated by FMCSA and governmental rules. It would not take big government to make one more rule which would help trucking companies for a change. Drivers running around like mercenaries working for the cheapest wage will never go away. Why can't drivers LEGALLY run 20 hours a day. Because we are already regulated by government. We are talking about putting forth recommendations for small changes that can make a big difference.
