I actually want one facing out that I can enable and disable when I please and no audio. I also want to be able to delete the footage myself.
if you put one in my truck facing me I'll just clean it out as your installing it. It's your truck that's fine but I won't work for you anymore. If it becomes mandatory , I could always use a good hat rack. And I sure do like to wear nothing but a hat sometimes. And I'll be sure the cameras on thenbergy, tow614, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
The thing that bugs me is this "if you are't doing anything against the law/rules/regulations, etc you shouldn't be worrie about it" mentality some people have. Not to get political, but this is the kind of thinking that led the public to blindly accept this "we want more security even if it means costing us freedom" crap after 9/11. And now after all the screenings, wiretapping, secret prisons, pat downs, and other homeland security crap, and we just wound up with less freedom and a bunch of agencies that are so inept they couldn't catch a cold. It's one thing if you want to catch the insurance scammers doing the "sqwat and swoop" maneuver in front of the truck to flash get insurance claims against the company, or make sure it really is the 4 wheelers fault for an accident instead of the driver. But if you are going to moniter a driver's every move, and dictate a driver's life on the road while they are in that truck for a month at a time, it's rediculous, and its typical of the stupid "everything can be micromanaged" mindset of the corporates. To ahead and put those driver cab monitoring cameras in there, new prime, and you'll really turn into the jb swift bottom feeder high turnover so you can undercut everyone company you are aspiring to be with that surveillance crap. (Takes soapbox, smashes it, and builds a nice warm bonfire with the pieces.)

We are going to start working on driver retention!
Guess what? Driver cam in yer face, ohh yeah! -
"Very few professionals are monitored by cameras" Just ask the $ handlers in Banks & Casinos , bus drivers , subway ( transportation not food ) operators all of whom are deemed PROFESIONALS in their FIELD of EMPLOYMENT just as Lawyers walking into a courthouse are monitored by security cameras

I consider a truck driver to be a professional. I am comparing to the professionals in other lines of work.
I do not care whether it is Prime or Werner or whatever.
