I will be working for PGT very soon. And so I tried to find any info in this forum about it, and found almost nothing. So, I found somewhere else and decided to add some info here to those that might need to read about PGT. Very soon I will be sharing my own experience. Read what drivers are talking about PGT and add your own experience if you are one of PGT's Driver/Employee:

    01) - Pretty good benefits packageTruck Driver/Laborer (Former Employee), PA – December 9, 2013
Pros: supportive drivers and operetional management
The fleet manegers and mechanics guys so nice & cooperative. Safety is priority one. Salary above average pretty good benefits package. I like my team, and they cared for me (and my family's) well being.

    02) - Great benefits, great work environment!Truck Driver (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PA – November 4, 2013
Pros: compensation, people you work with are not only professional but also accommodating at all times.
Cons: no routes where i'm living now.
One of the best company to work for. Compensation is great, I got what they promised me from day 1. Too bad I had to shift to another company coz of personal reasons. But I would definitely recommend this company to drivers out there who are after good compensation, career growth and professional environment.

    03) - Low morale.Hard to advance.Claims Manager in the Risk Department (Former Employee), Monaca,Pa – August 2, 2013
Diffcult place to work.Low pay.Do not pay enough for the hours worked.
Poor managers with poor management skills.Micro management.

    04) - I was a field recruiter for an over the road trucking company.Manager/Recruiter (Former Employee), Birmingham, AL – January 24, 2013
I traveled the southeastern United States recruiting truck drivers. When I was not travelling, I was on the phone or internet looking for drivers.
Management was very demanding and not cooperative.
Hardest part of the job was that it was a sales position.

    05) Just a Driver
Driver (Former Employee), Monaca, PA – November 28, 2012
    Pros: traveling
    Cons: home sick
PGT is a great company to work at for anyone that likes to stay close to home, albeit Eastern United States only. If not assigned a conastoga or covered wagon trailer, get ready to work out, as most loads will be tarped and most tarps weigh between 75 and 100 lbs.

    06) - Great people to work with all around, wether a new driver or an experienced one.
Driver (Former Employee), Monaca, PA – March 22, 2012
    Pros: drivers, management, training, equipment
Cons: had to move on for personal reasons
Enjoyed everything about PGT. From the Owner to the management to the drivers.

    07) - long days and hard work
local flat bed driver (Former Employee), Monaca, PA – July 22, 2013
    Cons: 14 -16 hour days
starting at 3am and not getting off till 5pm for less them minimum wage average. long deadhead miles (unpaid) strick rules that must be followed unless it don't bennifit the company

    08) - “im a local truck driver.”

    Truck Driver (Current Employee)
    Columbia Station, OH
I have been working at PGT Trucking full-time for more than a year
Pros – the bosses are really nice folks to work for.
Cons – sometimes you have to wait along time before you get loaded. the four wheelers don't give you the respect ,that you should be given.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend.

    09) - Excellent Company to Work For

    Truck Driver (Current Employee)
    Monaca, PA

I have been working at PGT Trucking full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great new equipment and if willing to work hard, the pay is there. Treat their drivers very well and never have any major problems.
Cons – Some dispatchers can be hard to see eye to eye with, but if a problem arises, they have no problem immediately moving you to another dispatchers board to quell any problems.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work that you guys do.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Keep us posted. I almost went with them some time back. They had an awesome recruiter (Phil) who told it like it really is. I confirmed this with a few PGT drivers. Only reason I didn't go with PGT is at the last second the tanker company I applied to came through and offered me local/regional.

    Just got into Monaca, PA...
So I'm here in a hotel room with another driver and tomorrow morning we starting the whole orientation thing. Snow everywhere but not to cold. Actually it will be really cold on Tuesday, the weather man said it will be bellow zero with the wind chill effect of -12 degree... So, I guess it is a good welcome to the flatbed ha ha...
