I have found that if I turn on Air-America, I get so enraged from all of the stupidity emitted over the airwaves that I can't fall asleep.

If you hear loud screaming from a white 379 during Al Franken's or Randi Rhode's diatribe, that's me, uh, huh......

    back to the OP...

White sheets are nice, if you like white... but by the time they turn yellow from CO (I'd like to see documentation on that), you're probably long dead. besides, there are plenty of other reasons for sheets to turn yellow.

The color of the sheet means zip if you don't have sufficient bandage in your first aid kit. It doesn't even need to be particularly clean (though that's considerate, if you can). The idea is to save a person's life - he can worry about a minor infection later. (In fact, some hospitals are more dangerous regarding infection than open air. Check around your local hospitals for STAPH and/or MRSA statistics)

I prefer a breeze to an A/C any day of the week - but I **hate** bugs. Get some fine-mesh metal fabric (window screen material) and cut it to about 6 inches bigger than your windows. Glue to those flexible magnets. When you stop for the night, put up the screen THEN lower the windows.

Of course, if you are downwind from a reefer, loud idler, or a pig farm, open windows are a bad idea.

One of the best ways to wake yourself up is to switch seats.

It's amazing how much different everything looks when you drive from the dummy seat.

Now that many trucks have cruise control, it should be even easier.

(be sure you adjust your mirrors for your new perspective)

And, do not attempt this within five miles of entering a scale or DOT checkpoint. . .

    Or, during daylight hours.

    Of course I'm serious.

I have well over 2,000,000 (non-preventable) acciident free miles and you have to do something to keep yourself amused. Otherwise, you mght have an accident.

And, running on a straight, flat, wind free Interstate can make people do strange things. . . such as change seats to see how it looks from the other side.

I've done all kinds of things in a truck, the majority of which will not (and cannot) be repeated here.
