I've learned the hard way that the "recruiters" for these big companies hiring "student" drivers are out to make their quota! I went through CR England and left them because frankly everything you hear about them is true....Imagine my surprise when I applied to other companies when CR England contacted me stating they would love to have me become part of their company!!!! You would "think" they would see on my application that England was my last employer!!!! I've been to SLC and I've seen the recruiters...there are not many of them in that office!!! A lot of these companies just want to recruit, some will accept you like they did a friend of mine, put them on a truck with a trainer as a student or co-driver for 3 weeks or even more than call you in and terminate you for stupid reasons like leaving something out of the original application, possible un-safe driver (although driving for them 3 weeks, passing their test, being evaluated as safe)...none of which mattered to them. So beware of the recruiters, try if possible to get everything in writing and out in the open so that you do not fall in this hole and possibly begin to ruin your career before it starts!!!

That's right.....terminate you for a stupid reason so they can cycle the next student through and collect their government "training" money.

I know a recruiter...I will try to get the scoop

Where I work they don't want drivers to leave...drivers are very hard to find and keep.

The OTR bizz has apparently hit an iceberg ...empty trucks ....and no one to drive them

    RizenPhoenix Thanks this.

What company do you work for Mev? It sounds like a company I WANT to work for that really wants good drivers who want to work, don't mind being out there, and have that drive!! I DO!! However, I've only been driving for 5 mo. almost 6, I'm 53 yrs old and I LOVE OTR!!

    Grizzly1221 Thanks this.

You going to need a solid year under your belt before you can advance....minimum one year.
    First year is the toughest.

    I'm not a recruiter
Im more of a forum lizard,
    an internet bum.

    :yes2557:

I highly recommend to anyone interested in trucking to
go see a psychiatrist right away.

Silliest thing ever - 5 years later, Roehl still sends me recruiting advertisements!
