    I've been asking mine for a 20 year old hottie in a BMW while my tore up wife of 25 years is sick & in the hospital and probably gonna die..

    Check state law, some state do not allow deducting such things from an employees pay. Of course they could still let you go and they can do anything they want if you don't call them on it if it is illegal. Say hello to rock and hard place, they are currently your neighbors.

    I learned a valuable lesson years ago. "FRIENDSHIP ENDS AT 3 DOLLARS"

    I would not sign anything allowing an employer to deduct damages out of my wages and btw, if an employer does, drag him into small claim court. An employer cannot deduct a penny from your wages unless you sign giving permission to do so, even with taxes you sign forms allowing deductions to be made. Now a court-order is entirely different, such in child support.

    Frankly Roll'in i think you did the right thing. If they wanted you to be responsible from the gitgo they would have had you sign something at the time of employment. Hind sight is 20/20 and i guarantee the next driver will have to sign something.
    FYI: This is mostly just a trucking Company policy thing, where else in the real world does this happen-- not a whole lot of places that i am aware of --not -Plumbing to computer technicians do they have to pay for damage as an employee, its the cost of doing business.
    I know that most companies make you sign some deductible paper and that most people sign it, but be advised i would be very careful to what you sign and the amount listed.
    If a company really cares about their equipment they wouldn't let a fresh CDl driver in it, but if they can get thousands out of your check because you pulled off a bumper or two (because you signed a paper) --whats their loss?
    I would think there are a lot of drivers paying for damage that "THE COMPANY" deemed a preventable accident when maybe they should of fought it a little harder --dunno?
    Knick in the tire? I remember pulling into a scrap company to load scrap metal in a side kit and picking up a bolt in a steer tire --No biggy --i bet a lot of drivers would be charged for that today and being told they damaged the equipment.

    you have 11 yrs under your belt and you did all that????????????????????????????? No lawyer will represent you..Just sign the #### paper.Next company will want you to do the same thing.If this is a mom and pop operation,they don't have the money like the mega companies do.As long as their trailers are DOT ready I think you are very wrong to call the trailers riggity.Stop the childish attitude and grow up
