    What do they consider unnecessary idling? When your sitting in your turck waiting to get unloaded and it's over 90 degrees, idling isn't necessary it's mandatory. Let one of those beaurecrats sitting in his nice air conditioned office lose that a/c for a day and they'll see how necessary it really is.

    This is insane! these idiots think that every truck has an apu on it and the weather is a perfecxt 65 degrees everyday. They don't sit and wait for live loads/unloads for 10+ hours. everywhere they go its air and heat. They wear suits and look through their nose at us truckers. Why is it that Texas is always trying to take notes from NY and CA for laws. I'm sure the ones that made this hypocritical decision would die if their precious meat or wines were no longer available because a trucker said no more. No more outside politics, no more idiotic laws from non-truckers and no more b/s from others who think they understand and have no clue what being an American trucker is all about.

    Dallas is it's own little Peyton Place. The City Council has been a mess for years and years. Same with the School Boards, DART board, and Commissioners court. Many have been indicted and even done prison time. That's the reason they have lost the Cowboys, TX Motor Speedway, TX Motorplex, and about every other large project where sane business people were forced to deal with the fools in charge. This will wind up in court like all their dumb decisions do. This summer when it is still 95' at 11pm they will not have enough cops to enforce this POS law. :biggrin_25523:

    all ya gotta do is get a cat or dog or gerbil. Cause ya gotta idle to protect the little animal. Woe be unto those that let them be uncomfortable. Animals have more rights than us truckers.

    Truckerjoe, I just saw a funny on the news and don't know how to make a thread of it . Chula Vista Police set up a veh. checkpoint at the courthouse today. 36 citations were issued, 27 cars impounded. DUI offenders were required by the court to attend a class given by MADD. Two arrests were made for weapons when officers searched their car when they smelled pot smoke.

    SEC. 5A-15. MOTOR VEHICLE IDLING.

    (a) Definitions. In this section:

    (2) IDLE means the operation of an engine in the operating mode where:

    (A) the engine is not engaged in gear;

    (B) the engine operates at a speed at the revolutions per minute specified by the engine or vehicle manufacturer for when the accelerator is fully released; and

    (C) there is no load on the engine.

    Source: (Dallas City Codes):

    http://www.amlegal.com/nxt/gateway....irpollution?fn=altmain-nf.htm$f=templates$3.0

    Long as you ain't idling, you ain't violating the ordinance. Long as the engine is running one rpm faster than when the accelerator is fully released, you ain't idling. So sayeth this meaningless ordinance.

    Stupid laws passed by stupid politicians to appease stupid people. . .
