There seems to be a huge amount of misinformation on eobr's on mechanical engines that i would like to clear up. EOBR's WILL work on mechanical engines!! The one that they loan for free WILL NOT work on a mechanical engine but qualcom has one for about $1500 that WILL work. My son has an 88 Pete with a 425 and his works just fine. The only thing he has to do is manually press the drive button to start recording his drive time. Rush Peterbilt in Abilene, Tx or actually Tye, Tx installed it for a little over $1,000. Landstar loaned him the $1500 for the EOBR. So for those of you that run older trucks, I hope this helps.

Ok.......sounds good. But Why would anyone with older equipment want an EOBR? Believe it or not.......The Resale value goes DOWN when youy put Extra electronics on trucks....

First, Landstar requires EOBR's. Second, there was no electronics put in, just wiring.

    Ok....."Wiring" right?

Are we talking "Wiring" that is exposed on the outside of the truck with a gay looking satellite dish near the sleeper roof?

Thats not wiring.......Thats bludgening the grace and Appealing taste that 88' model was sporting...

You start cutting holes and running cables for an EOBR......You better be paying rates that are good as gold

Yep all new hires for over a year now. Plus anyone that gets in log trouble. Before I came to Landstar 4+ years ago, I was looking at Bennett. They required you buy a $3,000 Qualcomm cash to get your loads on.
