to the cool peeps in the forum and not the party poopers...

I've been given green light by financing to trade in the truck. Given all the crap I got myself into I have decided to get an '07 pre emissions C15 with a 13 spd standard and 3.44 rears in a columbia flattop. APU equipped and 680k miles.
I pray things will start cooperating with all my efforts and power to over come all the #### this new emissions' truck put me in. The goal now is clear as always , pay off the truck and put money in the bank
Thanks all for the good words and the sorry blunt comments some think they got it figured out, its not like I'm the first to encounter bad luck nor the last..

I wish all the best in your businesses..

This is such a touchy subject............

    Heres the thing....

Everyone should have the opportunity to own a new truck....(I wish I could)

But the facts are what they are............THEIR ISNT ENOUGH MONEY IN FREIGHT TO OWN NEW.....Their just isnt (Some exclusions apply)

Yeah..We can turn around and buy new (Id love that)..But then what? Now im stuck with a $2,400 payment.. Yeah,I can make that payment..but then Im working for nothing...

Keep in mind..Your Physicasl Damage goes thru the roof on new trucks....

Id Love to see every owner-operator that works hard.....Runs his business smart.... To own a new truck.

there just isn't enough revenue to go around to do that.

I suppose it can be done If you plan on Living in it and have a PO box.......But most people have Families..Mortgages...Monthly Bills..

If anyone has a Solution..Let me know

Good luck to you Lucar. I would take that truck over to a real Cat house and have them check it out.

    Don't haul "freight".

I have a 2014 truck, and work 5 or less days a week. Two mortgages, newer type personal vehicle, wife, check check check.

Could I do it on "freight" rates? nope. Why do you try then?

    Good Answer........

Me personally..Im ok, But I could NOT live comfortable with a new truck payment......I havew pulled a flatbed for the last 20 years...Van before that

You say.."Why do you try then"? What are alternatives at my age? Not for hire? Tankers?

Keep in mind....I have my own authority..And customers

I could easily go buy a new truck and make the payment. I'd have to sacrifice time with my family though. I ran 60,000 miles last year. I'd have to run 20,000 more miles to pay for a new truck. That's two months of being on the road. 8 months out of the year is too long for my 3 year old. I guarantee once she's gone off to college, I'll never say I wish I would have worked more when she was growing up.

You see, there you go screwing up your life again. I read a book once about a stock broker...can't remember his name doesn't matter. He wondered why some people consistently lose money in the stock market. He had one client in particular that was a very wealthy successful business man but spent almost everything he made in the market. This client told him that he enjoyed trading stocks (kinda like gambling) it his wife was running around on him and there was eventually going to be a divorce and she was going to get nothing. The stock broker concluded that everyone gets what they want and deserve out of life.

Lucar, an '07 C-15 is not a pre-emisssions truck. It is a twin turbo Acert and it comes with all the VVA problems. I have told you in this forum that I have an '05 that has been a problem truck. Others in the Garage forum have told you Acerts are prone to problems. If you buy an Acert when you could buy a 6NZ, you get what you deserve.
