These would be 62/63 MPH fleets. Teams and had roughly 1/3 trucks being '11's. I thought the numbers look good.

But large fleets learned proper maintenance on the DPF so they never really saw a big jump in downtime like many did. And of course the dealers never got on board with the cleaning and maintenance process.

The shop people here are really stunned at the Evo's. They have one leased and the husband/wife team are getting over 10 running 62 with over 100k on it. At that savings you are looking at better than $80k fuel savings over the life compered to what most drivers are seeing.

We may be getting back to the days where an independent can purchase a new truck and justify it.

Id guess that at almost 1.00 a mile after fuel and maintenance some one could get paid well ,And they wonder why so many O/O's go broke you do not just give yourself the $ thats leftover.

On the west coast rucks I need to be at 75mph for the runs to work out. Tried slower but the overall loss was more than the gain.

I know many don't care about the FSC but 2013 the FSC was more than the fuel(tractor and reefer)

Most of mine run a 4 1/2 on,2 1/2 off or 9 on, 5 off so almost all maint is in house when the truck is off. Even a dealer only repair(warranty)seldom downs a truck for it's run.

You're going to have the 62mph club frothing at the mouth with that blasphemy of King Rutherford.

I'm thinking in a couple, maybe 3 years, this is probably my future. Cascadia or some similar new model aero truck. Consistent9mpg with hardly trying would be great, much better than my current numbers. The days of surcharges based on 6mpg are history as are hoods in otr operations, hate to think it cause I love hoods but is reality.

Those are great numbers but here's something to consider it has to be related back to what percentage of this is short haul verse longer haul. I do days were I haul runs at a distance of less then 10 miles all day, deadhead back you can do 5 loads in the day if you were only getting 2.50 a mile on them you would go broke. They need to be up at around $30 a mile. Yes I run on a dedicated account where we deadhead back. Some load I run 1 mile some 1000 miles but to keep them happy sometimes you have to do stuff at a huge loss per mile for the day which does get you down but at the end of the month it has to all equals out or you will go under.
And no you can't compare my numbers to yours because I'm over here your there the cost of everything is so different.

While aero has its obvious role in fuel economy, it is not the entire story. Heck, some of that skirting on that Evo would be torn off just coming to my house across a rail road track. Thinking more of the story lies within motor/trans/gearing with specific ecm programming for economy. Would think that the tuners out there in addition to some bolt on parts would get the average o/o close to the target mpg range. No one is going to want to buy that fleet operated slip seated truck that was used by a company that trains drivers fresh out of the mill. So thinking fixing/updating moderately older & moderately aero truck would still put any of us ahead of having that new truck payment.
