What do you mean by "but 1/2 the mile than the average trucking company"?
Shaneoboy21 Thanks this. -
if your use to getting 3000 a week you'll get 1500 at heartland 1/2 the miles
-
so if your making 38 per mile x 3000=1140 at heartland you can make 51 per mile x 1500=765
-
Doesn't everyone already know this?
10speed55, Steeleandsonfarms and VaGump Thank this. -
plus at heartland you'll make alot of pu/delv 8 to 12 a week this makes for a lot of waiting time no pay for that you'll also get 300 mile weekend loads if you get one at all
-
I've heard this before also
-
Wow this sound like what JB hunt did when they started the 37-41cpm deal. Guess Heartlands learns from the Best.
-
So if your running 3,500 paid miles and it's probably more like 4,000 true miles and make $800 your better off than running 1,500 (1,800 true) and make $750 at Heartland.

This is typical most everywhere except for a few. Many buy and employ assuming an economy that is going like gang-busters and they're the only ones in the trucking business. Problem is the economy sucks, has sucked, and will suck, and there is a huge amount of competition for a relatively small amount of freight, especially dry freight. Look for 75-200 truck carriers. They seem to have a proper handle on the realistic freight:truck ratio that they can/should support, long term and don't expand too quickly, failing to get the subsequent freight expansion along the way.
slowpoke89 and 8thnote Thank this.
