I went to leave the house at 1930 last night for a 0500 delivery at Atlas tube in Blytheville, AR and all 5 marker lights on the right side of the trailer were out. Had to send in macro 36. Ended up leaving at 2200. The tech found a wire broke inside the rear lightbar that feeds the right side. When you have a plan, it can change when you least expect it!!!

If its just a simple splice, are you not allowed to temporarily fix it, deliver your load then get it fixed?
-
I tried to find the bad connection and would have fixed it so I could get on the road but was unable to. It was inside the rear light bar by the right rear taillight.JimTheHut and bowhunter3714 Thank this.

Just got the call today from Maverick saying im approved just waiting on a trainer. Hoping to be in next Sunday since this Sunday is full. Very excited about Maverick since I've been hearing so many good things on this site about them. Only a few questions for maverick drivers. Im going into flatbed division not glass are any trainers near Atlanta that I can team up with? How is hometime? I was told weekly, hopefully since my wife is expected off first child late February. Thanks in advance

i too am waiting on a trainer. i was told the 19th of january but they still have a back log from december they are trying to get through orientation.

there is a really good reason for "that long line to get in the front door at Maverick" there guys. Trust me.
Rigbuilder, johnfarence, Blind Dog and 2 others Thank this. -
It's only to do with the season right now. It's slow, there's not a big of a need for drivers. Nothing spectacular about Maverick to have a "really good reason" for a long wait time. When I joined in summer 2013 (summer is peak flatbed months) i applied on a thurs. and was at the terminal on a saturday.

Made my delivery about an hour early. Got right in and they got me unloaded right away. On my way up I let my fm know that I had an issue with the trailer so that he could zero me out before I unloaded. I sent in my breakdown call and then put in my mt. For my location I put the Petro, their address and their telephone number so there would be no mistake as to where I wanted to get it fixed. Got back a message that they would set it up with them and to head on over. Got there and they did not seem to busy....only two trucks in front of me. 5 hours later I was fixed and I really wanted to just not do anything else and get loaded in the morning....yea right....lol. Got a Work assignment to go over to Delta Ohio and pick up some coils going down to Denver North Carolina. When I first saw Denver, I thought you have got to be kidding me...then I saw NC and was relieved.
I got over to delta and got right in to be loaded. I got a 36,000 lbs slitted coil that had to be loaded shotgun and three coils that were skidded. I put the stand up coils in the back and the skidded coil in the front. I was very please with how the tarp job looked. I thought about spending the night there, but wanted to be able to make it down to Brintle's the next night, so I headed out and stayed on the ohio turnpike. Made it to Mt Airy the next day and spent the night. I could have unloaded the as early as 0500, but there was no reason to burn up my clock waiting for a load. So I changed my eta to 0800 and ended up arriving around 0730. They came out and unloaded the skidded coils, and then you had to back up a ramp into their building for the stand up coils. There was no waiting and I got unloaded very quickly. I sat for about a half an hour and then my next wa came in.
It was pick up a load of pressure treated lumber down in pageland SC going up to lowes in WV off of I64 almost at the Border.
Got loaded pretty quickly and scaled out. Was 500 lbs over so they took a bundle off of the front. Made it to the lowes that evening and spent the night. Right at 0700 the guy came right over with the fork lift. I had already taken off my straps the night before, so I was ready for him.
He checked out what I had and then had me pull into the back where he unloaded me. Took about 45 minutes and then I sent in my mt call.
I think I sat for about two hours before I got my next wa. It was pick up at alleganey lumber off of I 68 in West Virginia.
I picked up a large load of popular lumber that my lumber tarps just barely covered. They got me in right away but had to do some serious climbing to tarp the load...lol.
I got loaded and headed for the house. This load is taking me up to Wisconsin...at the same place I unloaded three weeks ago right after they had 12 inches of snow.
It stated snowing on I70 right about zanesville ohio. Once I got through there, the roads around ohio were well salted.
When I got to the pilot at exit 140 on I 71...where I park my truck, it was totally full with trucks parked everywhere. I was able to park my truck next to the scale, but was not able to leave the truck as I may have had guys blocked in. I called my wife and told I was here, but had to spend the night in the truck. It was 22:00. I fully expected for someone to come bang on my door to move my truck so they could get out, so I slept with my clothes on.
The bang never happened and by the time I woke up at 0600, there were enough trucks moved that I could move the truck and get into the spot.
So I parked, went in and took a shower and waited for my wife to wake up and call me.
By 0900 I was home on a Friday.
I will have to leave out Sunday Morning after I plow my drive way from the snow we were supposed to get tonight. I will make my way up towards Milwaukee and stay at the Pilot in Oak.....something....lol then deliver at 0900 on Monday.
Hope you all have a safe weekend! -
Yes there is. Just look for yourself when you get to the Rock.
