Don't be so quick to discount the Detroit. I've run both the N14 and the Series 60 for multiple years. The N14 was a 525 Redtop backed by a Super 10. The Series 60 was a 500 in a Classic XL backed by a 13. I love the Redtop, in my opinion the best all around engine ever made for otr. Its a total beast for pulling and still returns good mpg and easy to maintain. But the Series 60 has a couple of advantages. Its over 200lbs lighter than the N14 and gets even better mileage. It wasn't uncommon for me to see 7.5+mpg. The absolute worst MPG I ever got on a tank was 6.4 when loaded just under max gross coming out of Laredo and letting the dogs out every clear stretch.

Only issue I had out of either engine were both ECM failures, not exactly unexpected with a million + on both ecms.

I usually stay out 2 weeks and go home for 2 days. Can't afford to be home longer than that only getting 2000 miles a week.

That's horrible miles. Talk to your dbl. I average 2800 miles a week. But I stay out for 4 weeks and take 5-6 days off.

The highest mileage week I have had of actual driven miles was just over 2500. That was 1 time. And I'm don't have a problem with taking a 34 away from home.

Trying to find out all I can about the Choice option. Can anyone tell me if Schneider leasing have both manual and automatics?
Also, when you guys are quoting load per mile pay (Ex. $1.80) is that the 65% amount or total billed amount?

I'm guessing you are saying I should be a squeaky wheel? That's my next approach. I realize I should've been doing it earlier, but I am just starting out and don't wanna piss people off that control my job on a daily basis. However, enough is enough.

Most trucks are manuals but every once and a while an auto will show up. All the new trucks are manuals as far as I know. Some of the used trucks they get from all over may have an automatic, just depends.

When I say I'm getting $1.80 per mile, 1.50 per mile, etc., thats after SNI takes their cut, the load board is set up to display everything with SNI's cut already taken out.

I think they have a few automatics in used trucks, but not 100% sure. The quoted rate is to the truck, but still have to pay truck payment, fuel, insurance, etc.
