I have seen a few who cant back worth a crap, as for me I have both my good and bad days. I also do a lot of backings in a day usually 4+ depending how many loads and stuff I get that day.

Also John I average 2600 but I do short haul for a dedicated so im paid a higher rate, of course I cant really be compared to normal OTR. Also shortly we just picked up stores in Las Vegas and since im one of the few with a sleeper I will be doing those runs and will be getting 3k+ miles a week and still getting home weekly if not every other night. Im also in CA so 62 is technically speeding here....

Lol, man sometimes when you have to back in 10+ times a day you just don't care at the end of the day. Or at the end of a trip, the only thing on my mind is eat and sleep. last thing on my mind is to try and "impress" other truckers by getting it in the hole in one shot.

And yet, I'm always impressed with myself when I can get it in, in one shot.
Not to mention, it is much less stress when I set it up right the first time for a single shot - than backing and pulling up several times for 10 minutes.

The only thing that should be on our minds when we pull in to park should not be a shower, laundry that needs doing, how hungry we are, or how long a day it has been.
The thing that should be on our minds is getting into that slot safely.

oh I pat myself on the back (not literally) when I get in with a single shot, some stores I go to are easy, some are hard. Whats funny is when I go to a difficult one and thats the one I get in first shot, maybe since im concentrating more.

What gets me is that I can one shot a tight blindside in a crowded truck stop, but you give me a 200' open space in front of the space and I need four pull forwards to get it in there...

imo...whether its the first or the 5th time it took. as long as you got it in safely and didn't hit or kill anyone, you did it right. just don't let those impatient drivers hurry you.

I literally pat myself on the back. Heck, I use both hands.

My personal opinion. I think all trucking companies are about the same. Is all about your work ethics. I noticed that not too long ago after leaving SWIFT. Now I'm in a regretful state of mind for leaving. Thats just my 2...
