Thank you. ;) Did not check yet. I'll let you know later. I'm getting ready to first trip, paperwork, decals, you know.

I use Delvac. I started with 10W40 conventional oil and I changed at every 15,000ml a couple times, after I changed to 10W30 partly synthetic at 25,000 and eventually I will switch to 5W30 full synthetic at every 30,000ml. Also I opened an account at Blacklab and I do the oil samples. Your truck is filled up with Delvac 10W30 syneblend from the factory. Is not it? Also I changed the oil in the tranny and the rear ends at 15,000 and 60,000ml. After that I will go with the factory recommendation. I do not believe, the synthetic can protect from the break in metal particles.

I used to fill Delvac ESP 5W-40 on diesel passenger car. This oil is rare and expensive - $30+ on TA Travel Centers.

Not quite right. My ISX15 pre-filled with Delo, not synthetic but regular. There is sticker on frame near oil filling orifice.

Also I have installed FS2500 bypass oil filtration system. I got pretty good results with it on my previous truck.

Its good idea to change oil in tranny too. I will definitely do that.

As for synthetic oil characteristics some reports say Delo with its proprietary Isosyn technology has pretty good results preventing wear. I'll give you link a bit later.

Mhh. It is interesting. It widely reported last year, at Kenworth the Delo 10W30 syneblend will be standard.
I think all these oils are good, and I do not think Delvac worth 50% more. However, I had problem with Shell coventional oil. My truck burnt an extra gallon of it, when I did not needed any top up with Delvac.
I am considering the extra oil filter too. Although Cummins does not recomend , it seems a good idea.
By the way, those are pretty good prices. Where was that?

Sorry, my fault, actually I DON'T know what exact oil is prefilled (mineral or synthetic).

:) Cummins doesn't recommend coz they recommend their proprietary Fleetguard Brand up to 10micron filter. FS2500 filtering up to 3micron.
