Absolutely nothing wrong with a long training period! Unless of course you and the trainer can't get along. But it would seem to me, the more training a newbie has, the better off they will be.
Those of us who had nothing in the way of training usually suffered for it for the first several months, if not the first several years.

I know that isn't a whole lot of money, but it will be well worth it to both of you, in the long run. If it keeps him from making just one hugely expensive mistake, it will have more than paid for itself. It is so darn easy to screw up and get in trouble out there. The more knowledge you have, the less likely this will happen.
I wish you and your hubby the best!

At Millis, we had to do 15000 miles...it worked out to 6-8 weeks with a trainer...and I agree, when I was done, I was able to deal with any situation I came into contact with.

Doesn't the school have job placement? I just got out 2 weeks ago and we had a different recruiter in almost daily trying to get us to sign up.

Just Schneider once and may. That's all lol. He actually went up to another trucking school who has been in business way longer. They were shocked as everyone else was. They gave him numbers and ideas. He leaves for prime next Sat. :)
