    Jason,

    How does pushing congress to lift the phantasmagoric controls on the energy companies equate to more tax money???

    I grew up in the 70's and those of us who grew up then were spoon-fed all the enviro-whacko b.s. of the day. A whole generation bought into the Rachel Carson's Silent Spring b.s. and that induced a movement. All of the sudden it was Earth Day and America is killing the world blah, blah, blah. Congress got involved and the next thing you know regulations everywhere. That equated to energy dependency on the rest of the world to include the OIL Ticks who funded the 911 terrorists.

    We now have the ability to run cleaner and leaner so half of those regulations that congress passed should be repealed. The public did it before and they can do it once again. The first time around they Lost Freedom and they Lost Independence.
    Let's correct what the *^%#^$ hippies did over 40 years ago with their shortsighted and misguided "Flower-Power" philosophy.

    Yeah, I was once a "long haired" liberal idealist who bought into John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance"...but I grew up and found out the world isn't about coom-by-ya. BTW, Lennon, CSN & Y, and the rest of the hippies made money off of us from their records...didn't that make them capitalists?, and hypocrites?

    Bringing more oil will do nothing, we already have a surplus of oil and gasoline.

    If you listen real close, you can hear the sound of the crude oil bubble bursting.

    May Crude $101.03 last -$1.51

    That's true Ron but my point was also to include the infrastructure of energy services as well. A billion barrels of crude are worthless unless that crude is "cracked". We need more refineries or increased refinery operations through expansion to keep up with the demand.

    That would be a start.

    Next on the list should be:
    • More power plants both gas fired and coal;
    • Nuclear power generating stations (the French and the Brazilians accomplished this feat of energy independence through nuke power);
    • An energy plan that goes beyond next week but provides for at least 3 generations (by that time, we'll have figured out how to generate power from another source)

    Hippie's flower-power didnt make fuel prices double over the last 7 years. Neocon G.W.O.T. made fuel prices soar due to causing instability in the middle east. It is the so-called conservatives that are bankrupting our country through 3rd world outsourcing and ill conceived wars. Bomb bomb bomb Iran

    I disagree.

    Those Hippies of the 60's are in politics, they're in our colleges and universities; they're in control of the California's political system mandating our educational systems and regulating our daily lives.
    What part of the "Earth Day" mentality concept is hard to buy? The third world isn't responsible for our problems here at home, it's the agenda set by both sides of the aisle, that drives businesses to alter the way they do business.
    Outrageous laws in regards to workmen's comp as an example drives companies out of California every day. 20 years of reform and both the employer and the employees suffer the realities of greed from the politicians and their "Feeding at the public Trough" mentality.

    How is that GWB is regarded as an idiot by the libs and yet he has the power to control this country?
    Since when is a war perfect? My grandfather was part of the first group after Pearl Harbor. They went to fight the Japanese Navy in hulks such as this: [IMG]

    WE as a nation were completely unprepared to fight WWII from the beginning and yet we won that war. Oh, George Herbert Walker Bush fought in that war http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_H._W._Bush#World_War_II

    and that didn't have a bearing on the outcome...so I guess the Bush's' aren't as evil as first thought..(sarcasm here).:biggrin_25523:

    Fuel prices were less than half of current prices before the Iraq war. W is a former oil man. Connect the dots. I dont know why some people will support politicians and policies that are completely against your best interests. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Iraq is a money grab for big oil, defense contractors and conservatives. Wake up before it is too late. Im no Dumbocrat either. I love the USA and hate to see my country self destruct.

    Keep on defending the idiot king. What has he done to improve our country? I really dont feel any safer knowing that we invaded a country under false pretences. Do you? If I wrap a flag around something does that automatically make it holy? You are the people that like to blame Clinton for everything. Just tell me how it is liberals fault when conservatives held power from 2000 to 2006. Was it Clinton's fault? If it is, then what are conservatives good for? since they cant control the country when they are in power.
