It's part of the business. We live in a noisy world. About the only one that bothers me is the Joe Trucker that thinks he has to idle at 1200 rpms with a broke spitter. I'll move! :)

I sleep with the TV on. It drowns the background out plus gives you an occasional movie line for your dream. That's a funny way to wake up when your dream is on TV.

So hostile...my truck is is about 5ft. shorter than your average big truck so there's no moving as you state. I always look for the spots farthest away from the door because I know most freight jockeys cry about pickups being in "their" spots. Yes I may be driving a pickup but I'm still running a flat bed and tarping loads instead of holding a steering wheel all day doing no real work. I'm 23 and out here putting in more work than your average guy and have grown up in this world so don't go telling me anything. I love hearing all you "big riggers" running your mouth about how heavy you're hauling this or that, oh I'm oversize with 6 inches hanging off my truck...I was running a 13 axle windmill schnable at 19 yet I keep my mouth shut and get it done...except maybe on the interwebs with guys stroking their epeens.

######## and moaning about idling trucks is like ######## about having to sit on your ### all day. It's part of the job. I'll either find a quiet spot or deal with it. When I can't deal with it anymore I'll find a new career!

Dude, backing ain't that hard and if you get to the point where it is you should have logged off a long time ago.

Face it, most trucks are pulled in because the drivers don't know how to back.

Idling don't bother me, it is those older reefers that sound like a lawn mower on steroids that think it is a great idea parking next to a dry van when there are other spots avl. Naw I am not the guy that parks nearest the t/s door either.

No hostility here. and to think that i thought 23 year olds preached tolerance and hope and change. there goes that theory. Use that 5' to your advantage and move your door forward or back.I am impressed that you can manuver an overlength load, even if it is a mere 6".

oh and those that brag on the radio about pulling an overweight or whatever type load, probably are not pulling that type of load.well not unless they are the fingerless driving glove.they may attempt to impress hotshotters because a driver will not draw the heat on himself.

okay.some "drivers" might run the heat on themselves on the radio,i'll give you that.

carry on driver,er i mean hotshotter-

Again, I've been working 13 axle+ trucks since I was 19...meaning 250k+ lbs, 170ft+ in length, 15ft+ in height/width. I've gotten where I am at this age by being humble and keeping my ears open, not by being arrogant. There's a reason most hot shot operations go under and usually there's only maybe 1 parked in the whole truck stop. If everyone could take their daddy's little pickup and hook it up to a gooseneck and make a fortune then you might be dealing with a lot more "arrogant hotshotters".
