I'd fight it and I think you have a good chance of beating it make sure you bring your cell phone statement with you to court.

I forgot to add if you decide to play hardball with them they have the option of auditing your logs and even order back records of your phone records for the past month. If they find additional violations they will slap them on you. They can be a PITA. So if you know of a situation you got away with before you are stirring the coals.

Makes one wonder if the people that write & research this crap walk out of the house in the morning with a helmet on just to get to the car?

Makes you wonder if they live in a bubble and have a sealed air tight house with purifiers, incinerators, and disinfectans everywhere too don't it?

I guess if were so #### dangerous why don't they build a desperate section of interstate specifically for trucks right along with highways. I mean seriously? If were that much of a danger to the general public they should put their money where there mouth is and see just how far highway fatalities drop by doing that. My guess? I don't think they'll drop very much.

Thank you, so much! I have recieved very insightful information here. I guess the next step is to hire an attorney. Will a typical Traffic attorney do the trick? Or should I be reaching into my wallet for a DOT specific attorney?

I can't believe my first EVER moving violation, is this. And not only this, but also a 2700 dollar this. Unemployed, and new to the industry. No wonder the younger generation has no desire to truck.

Don't let this one incident leave a bad taste in your mouth. Take the lick, learn from it, and move on. I got a speeding ticket in Kern County, Ca...probably the worst place in the world to get a speeding ticket, fined me $2500. (Yes I was hauling #####) anyhow, i paid my fine and kept trucking. Lesson learned, keep it within 5 of the posted limit....

    I'm 22. ;)

I am trying to see the good in this outcome. And frankly, the only good this is doing, is to whomever gets to take the 2700 dollar mistake I made, and buy lunch for the office.

Do the same people who pull us over, and cite us these ungodly tickets, not realize that because of us, they have the clothes on their backs? Computers in their cars, and sponges they scrub their boots with? You would think people could be a bit more grateful.

I would look for truck specific lawyers such as this. http://www.roadlaw.net/

Have NOT used them nor endorsing them, so google others as well.
