If you are thinking about going to celadon think twice unless you like paying to work somewhere! Unleashed today all celadon freight weighing under 44k will not be authorized to scale their load for legality.......they are relying on these junk right weigh scale systems on their trailers to determine legal weight.......news flash I have weighed everything over 40k in the past 6 months and have never even been close to what the right weigh says vs what my cat scale ticket says and even sometime as much as 2k lbs. off....... that seems like a heft fine by dot to me and celadon is putting that responsibility in the drivers lap! ! ! ! Causing drivers sever fines and increased csa score to where they are unable to seek other employment! ! ! Celadon may as well throw out their pre passes because there csa score for unsafe driving will go thru the roof! ! ! But drive mills like celadon don't care they will just pump out another class of rookies to act like truck drivers and not care a bit about retention!
CELADON IF YOU DARE! ! ! !
Come on Landstar just waiting on the last clearance and IM GONE! ! !

Landstar YOU pay to scale loads.....

Tell them this is not welfare .....then report off weights to the weights and scales division ....a bill of lading is a fedral document ...by law the weight must be right or face penalties ....DOT can give you the # to call......time to fight back drivers

Another shining example of a company trying to balance the bottom line by cutting corners instead of raising freight rates.

scale violations and fines do not go on your CSA score

A couple weeks ago, somebody in California tried to use us to smuggle pot. The DEA tracked the shipment to our terminal, then came and took the crates. I'd love to see what was on that BOL.
This deal with Celadon is just another example of how important it is to know the empty weight of your truck, preferably fully fueled. If you know your light weight, then your know what you can haul. Then they'll have more of a leg to stand on when dealing with crooked shippers who like to lie about what their product weighs.

VaGump, AfterShock and Criminey Jade Thank this. -
If you call the local scale house and ask the officer on duty he or she will inform you that YOU are responsible
for the weight being correct when you cross the scales.
If the weight is off you won't be able to blame Celadon, and there nothing Celadon can do to protect your CSA
evrn if they decided to do the tight thing and back you up.
Marten used to do the same thing....they trusted the built in trailer scale on the tandems.
Pretty nerve wracking.
