I worked here 4 years ago I also worked at Freight... Anyhow while I worked at Truckload I met Teams who were happy and also Teams who were cleaning out the truck do to the fact that they weren't making any money... Conway is no different than any other big company they work out for some drivers/teams and they don't work out for others... If they were so great they wouldn't have orientation every Monday... I didn't mind working for them but my tenure was up when they called me to Joplin to do E-logs... Sorry BYE BYE me no do E-logs...
Remember Hazmat and going to Canada isn't an option for new hires... Its a must...
Best of luck if you decide to give them a shot...xlsdraw Thanks this. -
Been at Freight for 11 years. Ran day line - haul in 2013 and made 75k bailing as soon as I could daily. Got bumped back to nights and should do 95k with the same mentality. It takes some time but you can make money on the Freight side once you hit top scale and can bid a good run. If I pushed my current run like most do I would make around 110k driving a truck. That's pretty good - so is my 95 taking unpaid nights every time they come up.
paul_4lp and double yellow Thank this. -
con-way has been good to me every Monday and Thursday the CEO leaves the bones from his porterhouse steak in the parking lot for me.

frankgh, CargoWahgo and paul_4lp Thank this. -
Wasn't nice to be around yeller during weeks
33-38
Albeit.
Excellent march though.
I want your march.... xDdouble yellow and paul_4lp Thank this. -
When I worked for them they started everyone at .36cpm no matter if you had 1 year or 30 years experience... And you got a penny raise every year until you maxed out at 42 or 43... I'm guessing the pay scale has changed? -
So guys at the top end of seniority can easily be in the .50's with all the extras...HalpinUout Thanks this. -
Right on, They didn't offer breakdown pay when I was with them, that's nice that they changed that... Wasn't a bad company to work, sounds like its still decent. -
I posted my earnings much earlier on this thread, just in case anyone is interested. Some do well, some don't. I know that I sure didn't. And after having spoken to many other drivers, I would say that most, well, don't. The driver retention rate just may substantiate this claim. 98% of all those drivers departing after only a year or less of employment are a collective voice crying on the" Mega Carrier Highway". And the drivers that don't do well are not the slackers and n'er do wells that a few others have chosen to believe to be fact.
As with most things in life, staying or leaving is a matter of choice. True, there is no perfect "situation". But to accept downright exploitation is, to me, a type of moral suicide. Me, I was never overly tolerant of unfair practices. Or, as a former cellmate ( no, I am not referring to a fellow team driver) once told me, "Dude, you just don't take no ####"!
I chose to leave and never looked back.Last edited: Feb 14, 2014
