now my dl isnt suspended but my priv in the current state is. the dmv said it wont show up on home state bc they are not on same system. if a company only looks at my dl, and my home state says its ok, can the company really find out about this crappy states ruling?

You shouldn't have any major problems entering trucking. Some with much worse problems than you have been successful. Just be honest about everything because it will show up anyway eventually.

hey thanx, yea school recruiter is aware and said it SHOULDNT be a big problem. again with the way things have been going as of late. i was supposed to leave for another school today but bc its in the current state, i cant get cdl permit w/o paying a $700 fee. cheaper to go to home state.

There maybe something that I am not understanding. To drive you have to have insurance. If you are deployed, you do not have to have insurance because you are not driving. In Missouri, if someone has too many points against them on their license then they are required to have a SR-22 form filed. That is the proof of insurance.

Insurance is tied to the owner of a vehicle not the holder of a license. If you try to license a vehicle then you have to have insurance on that vehicle.

Have you had your license suspended in the past?

If you do not own a vehicle then how can you have insurance? I am not understanding and require more information.

Well for me I had be stationed in NC for 6 years from 83 to 89 and during that time I got DUI in 1983 so when I went back to Alabama i got my license and kept on driving. No problem getting a license from Alabama. I decided in 94 to go to CDL school and after all the testing the DMV found that DUI From 83 on my record even though it was a regular DL from NC My problem was that from the DUI one years suspension I failed to reinstate my license in NC and just went home and got a DL from Alabama well before I could get my CDL I had to send NC a 50 dollar reinstatement fee so that they could renew my NC license then cancel them so I could get a Alabama CDL point being is a regular license from another state will show up. This was a 11 year span in 1994 with two diff state licenses.

Insurance is the LEAST of your worries. The DUI is the GREATEST of your worries, even if it is an "old" DUI. Trucking companies are going to look very hard at that.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Failure to have insurance should only result in having the vehicle to be insured to have the registration suspended..Never heard of DL being suspended for no insurance..
