can you still fog a mirror? warm a seat? if so,you are employable.plug away and before long, you too can ask yourself "what in the $%#!* am i doing driving a truck? what was i thinking?"

just do not sign away and allow some company to reimburse your driving school expenses.you will live to regret it.

I am so thankful to have entered trucking when i did.i was merely put in a truck and sent on my way. you new drivers start out behind fairly often it seems or at least my comprehension of all i read.you'll be alright .

best of luck in all seriousness-

One dui from over 15 years ago isn't going to hurt you with 90% of the trucking companies. The misdemeanor prob won't either since it too is old and not a FELONY. The unemployment won't hurt up to the point that you weren't receiving unemployment in april of last year. The time from when you got your last UE check to now is what you will have to figure out how to explain.

what was the "small misdemeanor" If i was hiring you id be concerned about that.

Unfortunelty your not in a good spot.

You have a DUI which by itself is a major red flag. Since it old it may be over looked by some companies and they might give you a shot. BUT

6 years later you had another problem which points to a pattern of criminal activity.

on top of that you haven't worked in 2 years.

Honestly i dont know anyone that will hire you. You have clean driving record, but there are somethings that are more important then how you drive.

No idea what your spouting off here. Like I said previous. I had a DUI in 83 and a misdemeanor assault in 91(dismissed) and another assault in 92( also dismissed) that one was a felony. But even though they were dismissed they are still on my arrest record and they also state the disposition. Yea I was wound up when I came home. But never the less got my CDL in 94 and have never been questioned on anything. So stop putting negs in the guys mind. Sure he may be ask about it but if he is upfront he should be ok. Only neg I see here is if the misdemeanor was theft of cash or something like that. Ooh rah ! Btw I got married in 93 and a good ear twisting and a$& kicking from a good woman has kept me in check ever since. So people do change.

I live in St.Louis and have a DWI from 2000 and 2 refusals from 2001 and am trying to get into a carrier sponsored cdl school, I have found out that in Missouri there is no way to legally have a DWI or refusals removed from anyone's driving record, they are there for life.

I have put in many applications and have been rejected many times because of my driving record from 12-14 years ago, but just about every carrier iv'e spoken with don't care about one DWI. I did get a glimmer of hope this morning from CRST and so far they will accept me with my record, i'm not holding my breath at this time but am pressing on.

Good luck and i'm sure you will get on the road!
