Pay attention! Just because you have family that was a driver or still is a driver doesn't mean you have the knowledge needed. I just saw a guy that was 21 and going through the PSD. He's been here 2 weeks and has only picked up his pretrip check list 4 times in that time. Yesterday his trainer sent him out to the truck after lunch to do a pretrip and the guy just sat in the passenger seat doing nothing.

You need to pay attention to what your trainers are teaching you. There is a lot you will need to learn and if you don't want to learn it and just want a check find another career. Also if you don't feel you are learning from your trainer get another. Not all trainers train the same just as not all people learn the same. There are a few that they are trying to weed out but most trainers are good at what they do. If they refuse to let you back get off the truck. I have talked to too many people in the last few days I've been here at Springfield upgrading to A seat that are supposed to be upgrading but can't because they can't even backup on the simulator. With PSD guys the trainer is supposed to be awake in the right seat when your driving. So there is no reason for them not to let you back all they have to do is get out and ground guide you. If they are that lazy report them and get a trainer that wants to train not get the miles to pay off their truck. If that's all they are after they need to run teams and not training. I have trained many drivers in the military and seeing how some of these guys are "training" it's sickening. But as I said there seems to only be a few trainers like that and they can't pull them from training if you keep your mouth shut about stuff that you need to know or any safety issues that need to be addressed.

Prime is a great company to drive for. But just like every company in every part of the world there are always a few bad apples. You just need to look past them.

The best advice is to develop patience as a skill.

Why do people in lightweights want to keep that passenger seat in anyway? Much better set up if you remove it, put a nice fridge in with the microwave on top, plenty of storage around it once installed.

I would prepare 5 years of work history, they might not ask for 5, but at least you have it if they do.

Me, I use the passenger seat to keep my atlas handy. I don't like to leave it on the dash.
