Hey atruckr, Good thread! I'm jumping in on here to ask you how often you try to head home. We actually live in the same area and I have been thinking for a very long time now to jump on to IC. Do you know what the loads out of and into southern california usually look like?
Thanks in advance!

Maan are there high paying haz-mat loads on the board?
-
no.....hazmat doesn't pay anymore than anything else.....nor does having a TWIC card

Another IC was trying to tell me that the Box Planners had been outsourced to the Phillipines. Anyone else hear this story? I find it quite amusing myself.
-
Not the Philippines but until the WF transition a lot of the overnight computer work was done in Olemc, Czech Republic.

I usually will get by the house every 2, 4 and sometimes 6 weeks. Depends on how much money you want to make and if you get lucky with return loads that get you home. Sometimes running loads up and down I-15 corridor I can stop by the house every other day for a little bit. The loads out of Southern Cal usually pay good. It's getting back that sucks. Just depends on where you go and learning the market/freight lanes.KoolKid Thanks this. -

I've never waited more then a hour for one with new set up. Couple things don't hang up ever. If u get disconnected call back. You should wait no more then a half hour for one. If at a drop n hook and your allowed one from customer grab a empty put trailer number in assignment task and role. If they can't find u a empty with in a hundreds they should pull the load. I really can't understand what u guys are doing to get so fubar. I know most of you are bottom feeders working up the food chain and it takes time to establish your self. It'll get better. But in reality don't expect smooth sailing. They'll push you to the max and see who has the guts to hang it out as a truck driver and who doesn't. Very few places have greener pastures. Don't expect top notch equipment, why put a a driver that has limited skills in a nice truck only to have them beat it up. I wish they kept all newbies in north east that way you'll really learn to drive and respect the road. Give proper Nats and etas. That'll go along long way to better runs. Don't cry to be home every week should stay out minimum 3 weeks. And then go back out after 34 hours. Don't sit around playing video games on your 10 hour break, your supposed to b resting. I just shake me head when I walk into a oc and see drivers lugging around the TV and Xboxs. Not cool. Work with your dbl explain you need miles and show him you can run. Keep the left door shut. Proper trip planning will get you far.
