Anyone Work For Millis?

My husband has been working for Millis and is very happy with home time and everything.
His Dispatcher is awesome also.
He just got one of the new 2008 Cascadia Frightliners. It has more room and he is really happy about that .
He has gotten home when he has asked and he gets real good miles.

 

Cascadia? I thought they used Kenworths?

 

Millis will purchase some freightliners for long haul, just to keep kenworth on their toes.

Most of the Millis short haul trucks are freightliners.

What's going on with MILLIs and MTI? A lot of complaints about newbies/trainees being mistreated or used for their money(for schooling) and then not getting hired. I'm glad I decided to wait 1 yr and get my experience elsewhere.(I already earned my CDL and shouldnt have to pay to get a job!) I will then see what's going on with MILLIS and If I want to do OTR with them.
I need to stop recommending them to friends with everything thats going on.

 

Please go to Swift, Cr England or others and you will run back to Millis. No Miillis is not perfect but they are among the best. I went through in 04

I have seen some of the Freight Shakers going up and down the road it does look good. I think Ill stick with KW no problems as of yet. My truck is 06 with alomst 400 K. Next year Im sure Ill miss it.

 

Maybe they are going to try them out, everything is fuel efficent and areo dynamic.

 

The problem is people are going to MILLIs,Overjoyed to go there then getting screwed over and not employed. You might want to go to there board and read whats going on and then you will understand why I asked Whats going on with MILLIS? There a plenty of newbies who want or wanted to goto Millis but it seems know they are just putting you in MTI for the money and not to get new drivers. On top of that they then send you home no CDL and try to bill $5000 for schooling that didnt produce any results and is not PTDI certified so you cant even get on with another carrier(good carrier). Thats Bull$%it

 

Remember that you are hearing only one side of the story. Millis is picky about who they send to school.

As for government money, that only happens after you completed a years with which every company. They are not given money out right, it's a tax deduction for the company.

Like any other job, if you do not like the company then don't work for them.

Hey bigdaddy. Did you you go to MTI and test out?

 

No I got my CDL at home and was going to goto MTI to get the job with MILLIS then my unemployment ran out. I couldnt do 3 weeks of school,next week orientation and then wait for trainer and to get 1st pay check with out having money to pay the bills at home. I like Millis but something is going on and it seems like people are being taken advantage of. If the school was ptdi certified at least the students they dont keep would have better options. I know Trucking isnt for everyone as I had some guys at school who struggled and required a lot of extra time but if you go to the school they need to follow through with employment. Thats the reason you went to their school in the first place. I hope things get straightened out. I'm getting my experience with local companies and if I decide later to run the road then I'll give it a go.
