We have been here going on 2 years. The first year was a learning process but the 2nd year has been very good to us. We haul AA&E freight with a conestoga flatbed trailer we bought last July. Team FAK can pay very well also so we make sure to let agents know that we are not AA&E snobs who wont do anything else.

FAK = Freight All Kind (General Commodities)
AA&E = Arms, Ammo, and Explosives.

The poster above told ya what AA&E and FAK freight are. We pull a 48 ft flatbed with a Rolltite tarping system on it. The tarping system makes the need to learn to tarp unnecessary. Landstar has a securement class you would have to attend before being allowed to pull any loads with a flatbed if you haven't had much experience in the last couple of years.

AA&E freight is almost exclusively government freight for the Dept of Defense. Rates are normally higher and a DOD secret clearance is required to haul this freight and you must be a team operation.

Team FAK is general freight that requires a team operation to deliver the load. Usually loads like this are time sensitive and must be delivered asap. While there is quite a bit of this freight, you can normally find your own by booking a 1000 mile or more load and delivering it early to the customer.
