First off, I understand people don't like grammar police here, but many posts here that are "picked on" are literally unreadable. Second, truck issues aren't always the best indicator of a companies quality. Trucks breakdown, and repairs don't always take place over night. If the truck wasn't getting fixed, he probably wasn't talking to the right people. I'm a new driver and I made that mistake myself. I drove a truck for about a week, telling Dispatch since I picked up the truck that it had issues that required getting it into a shop. That was my problem, Dispatch does not care. Tell them about it, then if/when they don't route you to a terminal, you get with your manager or safety. If you have a safety issue on a truck, any company will have it fixed if you make sure to tell them that it is a safety issue.

I just went through USX training. The truth is they are a large company, and you are going to have the same issues with them you'd have with any other large company. There are lots of happy drivers working for this company tho. I've talked to a handful in person that claim they're treated like family after being here a few years. Communication is bad for me so far, and I've been stuck in the shop far longer than I'd like, but that's not company policy, it's just bad luck and part of trucking. People won't hold your hand in this company, and your manager is not going to care how your day went. If you can deal with that, there are some great opportunities in this company. Opportunities available to people with 0 driving experience. Driver's just have to find the company that works for them sometimes.

Right now my opinion is low. After being upgraded I waited four days for a truck. Three days later I'm in my third day of sitting in a hotel because the truck felt like taken a crap and shut down on me. Sorry but, I had to vent. Did it make me feel better? Nope.

Sorry your going thru thru this. Waiting for a truck to be fixed sucks. Talk to the terminal manager about a different one since it's been a week.

Solo drivers get the older trucks which have issues. Best advice I have is try to get a Cascadia. I've been told their easier to fix.

Its not a great time to start driving really. Slow time for freight and theyre not buying new trucks atm. Waitimg sucks, but its not out of the ordinary when starting a new job, of any kind really.

I wish they'd stop spamming Craigslist with ads. It's like they have a dozen recruiters for the same area and they all compete with each other for new drivers.

People are dumb. If they keep seeing a job advertised, often they'll think it must be a good company.

Refusing a drug test will more than likely keep you from driving for them again, Very understandable (in my opinion), but I have heard that they are all automatic, and for rookies, I wouldn't go there, get the experience to use a clutch, learn to shift, and then take a job with an automatic
