This was a storm that tracked across the south. Glad to hear you two escaped the area before it hit.

Now there's a big storm brewing in the mid and northwest. I hope you were able to dodge that one, as well.

    Hello There. :biggrin_25511:

Yeah, I know. I haven't been on TTR too much. I've been in hermit mode since Christmas. Weather's been lousy, and the snow seems to follow me around the country.

    ......or maybe I follow it.......

Anyway, been staying pretty busy. Last week stats: 2,609 paid miles. Not earth shattering, but considering the weather....I'll take it. :biggrin_25525:

I've been free of students since Christmas, but that caught up to me on this week when the training department asked me to take on another student.

So they routed me out of South Carolina and had me pull a load to Dallas so I could pick up a student here in Irving.

Problem is they can't find him. I've been asking training since Friday morning for his contact info. I arrived here at the terminal, after I delivered yesterday morning, to pick him up.......searched everywhere......nada. :biggrin_25512:

I had a pre-assign waiting. It was a simple run, plenty of margin. I figured it was a good one for this new driver to cut his teeth on. Ended up running over to Fort Worth to pick it up, then came back to Irving, knocked out some laundry, shut down and gave Chattanooga some time to continue their hunt.

That was nearly 24 hours ago. I'm scheduled to deliver in Pauls Valley, OK by 1630.

Times running out for this student.

My guess is he didn't make the cut, or went with another trainer.

Here's a little news flash, course it may be old news.......but...

Took a look into a 2015 Cascadia that USX has here in Irving...................No Clutch pedal.

So I guess that will define the length of my tenure with this company, unless, of course, I buy my own truck. We'll see what happens.

    That's it for now.

    Thanks for reading.

Wedge, US Xpress is buying 10 speed Cascadias but they've been mostly automatics. Ask them to hold a 10 speed for you.

I gotta tell you sir, we LOOOOVE our automatic. Very nice to concentrate on the important parts of driving and rush hour in ATL or DC or LA is not as brutal.

    Wedge and flood Thank this.

I just applied as a rehire to USX for a dedicated that claims I can be home every week. My city is actually listed as a hiring area! Very rare!

I'm assuming dollar general. But it doesn't say , nor do I care, so long as I can get in living where I do.

Here is a question, can lease operators run dedicated accounts?
