I used to live in St.Louis several years ago. If your at the greyhound late at nite then keep that bag close to you and dont open it for any reason where prying eyes can get a peek. I have known several people that have been victims of the good ol' grab and run. I agree this is the best trucker forum on the web and I like you gave my 2 wk notice yesterday and yea some of what I read scares the hell out of me to but at the same time I wonder why I didnt make the change years ago. Good luck with the new job.

Hey I got the word, Im heading out to Prime late next week. Supposed to start the 25th of March.

Thanks for the info, I will be checking back before I leave. Beyond that, my laptop has become unreliable... Wish I could take this beautiful Desktop one with me!

Maybe someday we will cross paths...

Sorry for no updates recently. I am out with my CDL instructor. My instructor is insane, but that fits well with me. I am learning to drive, in the real world invironment, vs 4 people in a truck driving around a test pad. All of the instructors I have dealt with, including mine, seem to be very professional, and take pride in putting good drivers out on the road with them. I have driven about 10 hours over the last couple of days. He is very good at sitting there and giving advice about what I should be doing. He knows I have driven nothing but a 4-wheeler in life, and still lets me drive his truck. I told you about the insanity part earlier. I'll let you know more later.

:biggrin_25513:Sounds good I called New York state (where I moved from) and found out I have a suspended lic for insurance. I got rear ended here in Ca and it totalled the car, but I forgot to send the plates back. So I just sent the plates back with my $25.00 and we will see how long it takes to get my New York license valid again .......:biggrin_2554:

I guess I should update this more, and spend less time on pre-trip studying. lol

I am in Atlanta right now, waiting to get loaded. We have done over 4,000 miles this last week. All over the southeast. I have been getting alot of seat time, and now my hardest obstical is down shifting. He says it will come with practice. I have been out for 10 days now, and plan on being back in Springfield to test out for my cdl on the 5th of April. After that, I have to do 50,000 miles with a driver/trainer before being good enough to get my own truck. My instructor likes the way I drive, and has decided to also be my trainer as well. So it will be really comfortable. (having a 26yr old step-daughter he chats with help in that area).

The test for the permit is really easy. You just have to study for it. It's multiple choice answers and you only have 3 to pick from.

We are heading to Tennessee with this load. I will update some more later. So far, I am pleased with my decision to go with Prime. My only concern, is if I am going to like this lifestyle change. I am still undecided about that one.

Been working with my recruiter Tabatha, and she has been really great. I am pricking an orientation date hopefully tomarrow for after June 15th (thats when my New York license goes back to valid).
