HRS is a terminal codeHalpinUout Thanks this. -
ACH1130, Nobody posting in the YRC forum anymore. Guess you were the life of the party over there. Things are picking up at my Reddaway yard, they just started hiring again. Must be doing ok even though they voted down the contract.
-
Yea I noticed that, but sammycando left as well... Squint fell off the face of the earth... I talk to skinny at least once a week or so.
Trying to make your yard union? -
Well no work tonight. I had 13.50 hours to my 70 and couldn't do my reset because of that stupid two 1-5 rule. So I called my boss and he said stay home, said he'd rather lose me on a slow night then worry about losing me 2 days this week when busy. Turns out my the CRT runs we're cancelled anyways. Guy below me even said no extra work so I guess it worked out for the best. Now a snow storm tomorrow.
found out they are making a LHD position at my terminal. Two of our guys wants to do it so it means I'll be able to move up the list. I would take the first extra board as that goes out every night where as the 2nd does not. And I get a new tractor as well. -
That 1-5am blows a big D... It hurts the operation I run as well brother... Absolutely BS.... I am a loyal follower of your posts... I got about 3-4 months left of OTR then I'm going back to Linehaul... Gonna be a toss up for me but 100% sure its gonna be union, after Conway non union that's not gonna be my WAY again... LOL... Not sure ACH if you know is the South Holland, IL UPS terminal a good one or is that an end of the line terminal like where your at now? I know they also have one in Chicago, IL but im guessing that has the be the end of the line terminal for sure being that its like right in the city as South Holland is in more of a cross expressway area ( thinking its not an end of line hub ) any info on that for me? UPS in South Holland is close to me but YRC and ABF are like right down the street which is gonna be a big factor in who I decide to go with.... Its snowing like hell here in Illinois it looks like it moving to da east, hopefully it wont affect ya.... Thanks Man... -
Yea I agree, I would've had a reset if it weren't for it. But like I said they cancelled a lot of runs last night so I guess it worked out. Plus they did ask me to work Saturday if I wanted and I said yes.
not sure exactly what South Holland terminal is. Not sure if it's a hub or mini hub. We do send a trailer or two out for their every night. Usually I take one or the other guy does to my run and they take them for a meet. I'm sure they got good runs though. They also have trailers for Chicago and palatine. The snow is coming down here good now as well but supposed to stop around the afternoon. I hope my runs cancelled again. So I can run a longer run on extra board tonight. Doing our longest run was really nice last week. Plus now I got keys to all the trucks now in our yard, so if a senior guy is off I can use a newer one than my 1 mil mile truck -
People are too chicken to vote the union in at my yard. I would be all for it but it doesn't seem to be helping much in Fontana, can't say for sure though. Every time union talk goes around my yard they start kissing our ##### and every one falls for it. Most of the old Bestway yards were horrible so they voted in the union and the original Reddaway yards seem to be ok. We still get the same stuff Fontana does like free benefits for the family, etc, in fact I think my yard is one of the better ones. My TM was a long time employee for Consolidated Freight so he understands where we are coming from. He and I will talk about the old days at CF sometimes, now that was a real job. Sounds like UPSF is as close as you can get to CF except for the loading and unloading.

Halpin, South Holland is a busy terminal. you'd do well there as there is always work.
HalpinUout Thanks this.
