Well, sitting down here in LaGrange, GA. Delivered to KC this evening. When I first got there I about panicked thinking I went in the employee entrance... it kept going and going on this little 2-lane path obviously not designed for trucks. I couldn't remember what it looked like when I checked it out on my phone. But nope, got there and dropped my load and hooked up to the empty that I checked earlier before dropping my load. Somehow, between the time I backed in my loaded trailer and went over to this empty, 2 small rolls appeared in the very front of the trailer. What kind of witchcraft is this?!?!? Or maybe I just didn't shine my flashlight in there the first time I checked it. Nah, that wouldn't be it. I'm a trucker, truckers never make mistakes.
Ok, so back to the office, explain that the empty I thought I found was not in fact empty, so he tells me to put it in a door and grab another empty out of another door. Ok, do this, finally get out of there.
I originally had a preassignment that was going to HD in McCalla, AL tomorrow, short run but paid over 3.00/mile so I was all over it. Except it cancelled on my way down here. Nooooooo.
So, instead of getting on the load board I've been sitting here on this forum. Yeah... maybe time to get some work done... or maybe I should go read posts in the Trucker's Rants section. Hmmm... lol.

I have a question for you empty stealin I/C's
do you guys have to go through the empty request process like company drivers? I scoped an empty B4 I dropped at a Walmart, did my thing so I got DVIR and it showed I picked it up B4 I dropped the loaded 1 like I usually do, go drop my loaded 1 and come back to see an I/C pulling out of the exit with my empty, talk about

I found some nice loads to get me going on Thursday, of course depending on where the empties are. The problem is they are expecting freezing rain, sleet, and up to a foot of snow on Thursday! So I'll probably be choosing to stay here until Friday. My choice, right!

Oh yeah its still on the workflow same as yours, workflow looks exactly the same. It will let you put in any trailer number and will accept it and give it a green checkmark. Hell I have put in TA000000 before, when my three attempts to get someone to fix my workflow so I could accept my preassignment were completely ignored. About 3-4 minutes later it'll come back with a message saying invalid trailer number. It probably did the same thing with that IC, and didn't give him the message that it was in use until later.
If you want a surefire way to keep ICs from stealing your empties, crank that thing up until its about 10 feet in the air. I've found that most ICs choose not to exert enough effort to get out of their tractors and lower trailers that are too high, and will simply move on to another empty. I think I'm the only one I've ever seen that still gets out to make sure I'm not gonna high hook it LOL.Chopper1776 and 91B20H8 Thank this. -
Also, I'm just going on record to say that chickinwing is forbidden from posting pictures of his Kenworth T90000000 in here, complete with 148 gauges and chrome switches. This thread is for us wee little Freightliner drivers to feel like we have kinda nice trucks.
mickimause and chicknwing Thank this. -
Guy got a new t680 yesterday on three year lease. Super nice truck and super nice ic. Learned some things from him for sure.

I don't know whats the deal with the Home Depot. It took me 2hrs to drop a load there. They keep letting dedicated drivers in front of the OTR drivers. I think its BS, it should be one for one. Its a joke getting out, they use the exit gate for an entrance gate for the dedicated drivers. Im gonna scratch that off my list.
