Looking at pics on on the Schneider sight, no way I'd get a truck from them. I'd go dealer and get one. Why have some else pick the trucks options.

Well for someone like me, I didn't have good enough credit to go to the dealer or a bank. So I picked out a truck that I would have gotten from the dealer anyway, or as close as I could. I got my diesel APU, 13 speed transmission, Cummins engine.

With the option to get exactly what I wanted from the dealer of course that would have been the way I would have gone, but that wasn't an option for me. That's ok though, I still got a truck that had a lot of what I wanted and that I'm very happy with.

Now some IC's could easily go to the dealer and pick out a truck, too, but they prefer to just lease. If they're making money they are happy with, and enjoy being able to trade the truck back in and get a new one after a couple years, what is wrong with that? Its whatever you want to make of it IMO.

I get out and look every time. My first month solo at Maverick, I high hooked at Tootsie Roll in Chicago, and I didn't actually know it was even possible to do that until this happened. Caused about $4000 in damage backing the tractor into the trailer and reefer unit. So now I'm paranoid about it LOL.

And don't bother cranking the trailer up in the air... If I'm lucky enough to find an empty, IT'S MINE! LOL

By the way, could the ICs and company drivers both do us all a favor and STOP SCREWING UP THE LANDING GEAR ON THE NEW TRAILERS?!? How the hell are you guys stripping the gears when the trailer has less than 1500 miles on it?? Saw that twice this week, one of them a 2014 trailer and the other a 2013.

Also how about putting the landing gear handle BACK DOWN when you drop the trailer, so the yard dog doesn't ram it against 15 other trailers and a brick wall on its route to the dock, bending it together making it impossible to switch the lever to make the ratchet catch the other direction???? BRAND NEW trailers and I'm out there beating the thing with the sledgehammer just to get it so I can crank the gear up... Jesus.

Well after sitting here for about 2 hours going back and fourth trying to decide on what load, I decided on a 42,924lb load headed to the same place I was originally going to in McCalla, AL.... though with only a 35k load before it got cancelled. Oh well. There was another load headed further north in AL but it looked like goatpaths and didn't get me to that great of a spot so I settled on this one. This will probably be only my second or 3rd load over 40k with this truck LOL.

Will be interesting to see if it still throws the DPF face plug code, as usually it would only throw it with the heavier loads. Gonna drive the piss out of it and see what happens.

You going to my Home Depot? If you get there after 1700 expect a long wait at the gate. I will be there tomorrow around 1300.

Yeah headed there to that HD DC if I can ever get out of fricking Scotts here in Jackson GA. Been sitting for 2 and a half hours so far. It's now on my list of "don't come back".

Tomorrow though I've got a good load booked that'll take me down to Southern GA. Hope there is room a that FJ to park tonight...
